The power of art lies, among other things, in its ability to make the viewer pause for a moment to admire life through the artist’s lens, finding 𝙖𝙬𝙚 in the most unexpected places.

Take this piece, for example. It isn’t even a complete door—a subject already deeply explored in art history—but rather an intimate extract of one. The work focuses entirely on the interplay of 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙧, the 𝙩𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 of rust, and the stark 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙩 between weathered, old metal and the clean lines of the new. It is simple, yet absolutely beautiful.

This astounding piece perfectly exemplifies the depth of Misty Martin’s abilities. Armed with just brushes and paint, she acts as a visual 𝙖𝙡𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙩, transforming everyday, mundane elements into a striking work of art that you simply cannot look away from. It is exactly this ability to find beauty in the overlooked that has earned Misty a well-deserved place in prestigious public and private collections worldwide, including the permanent collection of the 𝗧𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 in 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻.

We are incredibly proud to showcase her exceptional work as a vital part of our gallery’s collection.

At the gallery, we adore movement, striking colors, whimsical themes, and baroque compositions. Yet, in a sea of intense visual information, Lilly Luna’s pieces feel like the serene calm at the center of a storm.

Employing an earthy yet vibrant palette, Luna’s work is a beautiful example of the rich surrealist influence that defines so much of contemporary Mexican art. Her pieces invite us into dreamlike settings populated by enigmatic characters, weaving subtle narratives that prompt the viewer to imagine the intricate tales hidden behind the image.

These captivating, small-format works—among other exceptional pieces—are currently available to experience in person

Based in Loreto, mosaic artist Hresula Brentsen relocated to Baja California Sur to fulfill a lifelong dream of living by the sea. A significant part of her oeuvre stands as an ode to this profound connection, whether sculpting mosaic surfaces into marine forms, rendering them in large-scale murals, or isolating a singular coastal motif to explore its essence.

Utilizing a rich combination of mosaics, found objects, and handmade ceramics, Brentsen deliberately explores the mesmerizing effects that water exerts on the human psyche. In Ripple, she captures that meditative, near-hypnotic trance we experience when facing the ocean, offering the viewer a tangible fragment of the sea.

In his 𝒃𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 series, artist Andrés García Peña explores the tradition of the confrontation entirely from the viewpoint of the bulls. In an amusing yet critically sharp narrative, he positions the souls of the animals around a table. Interacting as if they were patrons at a local bar, they celebrate human defeat and mourn the loss of their fallen companions.

Technically, García Peña thrives on fluid, mixed-media experimentation. His pieces feature a deliberate overlaying of materials that are traditionally kept separate. He utilizes 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐬 to execute crisp iconography, 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 for fluid paint application, and 𝐚𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐥 to build form, texture, and atmospheric shading.

By mixing flat planes with soft blending, and precise linework with bold lettering, his compositions remain dynamic. Note how he maintains the ethereal aura of the “𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙯𝙚” through broad brush strokes and vibrant tones, only to pivot to a conventional, highly detailed style in the smallest section of the canvas: the golden circle where the actual match unfolds.

García Peña’s striking approach to painting and material synthesis firmly roots his work within the 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 art conversation.

𝗧𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗢𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 stands as a definitive master of the collage medium. Beyond a flawless command of technique, her work is defined by an exquisite sense of composition and an always engaging choice of subject matter.

In her series Luchadores, these three pillars achieve a remarkable harmony. One can’t help but admire the 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 of her cuts across diverse media, from traditional paper to textured foam, juxtaposed with the delicate hand-painted details that bring life to the eyes and expressions of each figure.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆, Oldfield expertly balances flat planes with textural elements, resulting in a depth that feels nearly three-dimensional. Her 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 is equally strategic; a rhythmic “visual trail” guides the spectator through the series. Note how the vibrant green of one background reappears within the mask of the pink luchador and again in the attire of the yellow, a sophisticated use of 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 that binds the pieces together.

The series serves as a flawless 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, a perennial muse for the artist. Oldfield captures the “explosion of life” inherent to the world of Lucha Libre, translating its raw emotion and kinetic energy into a refined art piece.

While each work commands attention on its own, they find their truest resonance when viewed as a collective. We invite you to experience the exuberant Luchadores in person.

ʙʀᴇɴᴛ ʟʏɴᴄʜ
ᴏɪʟ ᴏɴ ᴄᴀɴᴠᴀꜱ

As the title suggests, this work shifts its focus away from the sprawling landscape and the tree itself, centering instead on the intricate shadow cast upon the desert floor.

Shade of Mezquite is a piece best experienced in person. Standing before the canvas, the intentional use of color evokes a sensory journey: the ambient warmth of the desert, the dappled light filtering through the canopy, and the distinct aroma of sun-warmed grass. It offers a momentary reprieve from the intensity of the sun within the quiet sanctuary of the tree’s shadow.

To engage with the work of Brent Lynch is to witness a masterful command of color. He expertly manipulates temperature through hue, using a warm purple to suggest the heat retained even within a shadow—effectively challenging the traditional classification of the color as “cool.”

This is a piece designed for daily contemplation. Its presence in a home invites the viewer to observe the nuances of the brushwork and the evocative interplay of light and pigment, conjuring a sense of peaceful meditation with every look.

We invite you to view this work at our gallery in downtown San José del Cabo.
It would be a pleasure to welcome you. ✨

In Cuatro Raíces, Lencho uses a straightforward, naive style to tell a story about ancestry and the quiet strength of women. The composition centers on four figures from diverse backgrounds as they carry water and fruit—an enduring allegory for fertility, life, and growth.

The details here are intentional. The rebozos and embroidered bags represent traditions passed down through generations, often through shared work and conversation. Within this exuberant landscape, the presence of children and animals feels significant; it suggests an inherent atmosphere of safety, offering a feeling of profound, unbothered freedom in their proximity to the figures.

There is a groundedness to the number four, often tied to the four cardinal points of the earth. It reminds us that for centuries, women have moved through the world like this, carrying knowledge and history in silence, much like the journey of these figures through the brush.

Ultimately, the artist initiates the story, but the viewer completes the dialogue. We invite you to the gallery to engage with this piece and discover what reflections arise when you stand before its mirrored narratives.
