Our Story

Galeria San Francisco first opened its doors in a beautiful space in the Historic Centro of San Miguel de Allende, overlooking the Parroquia. Susan Santiago, an artist and owner of the gallery always had a dream of moving to San Miguel de Allende and opening a gallery, where she would showcase her work, as well as the work of fellow artists living in San Miguel. Upon retiring as an art teacher in Los Angeles, she moved permanently to Mexico and made her dream a reality. After three years in the Historic Centro location, Susan decided to open a second location in the Fabrica Aurora, a beautiful art and design center located in what used to be an old textile factory. A year after she opened the second location, Susan decided to move her entire operation to the Fabrica Aurora, because of its reputation as one of the most exclusive destinations in San Miguel.

In addition to functioning as an art gallery, Galeria San Francisco offers a large variety of art classes throughout the year, taught by experienced teachers, who are also working artists.

Susan Santiago, the owner, believes that art enriches peoples’ lives and should not be a privilege only for the elite; that everyone has the right to freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts, and to share in its benefits.

The Art Gallery exhibits a variety of work, by both representational and abstract artists, all of it high quality and reasonably priced. Be sure to stop by the Galeria San Francisco in the Fabrica Aurora, when you visit beautiful San Miguel de Allende.
