Soft pastels and colored pencils artwork of Olamide

I'm drawn to his simplicity and kindheartedness even as big celebrity artiste in the Nigerian music 🎶 industry. He is reserved; far from controversies, family minded, and a great leader/boss.

Finally completed this artwork titled "CRY FOR FREEDOM"
Medium: Charcoal pencils and soft pastels
Size: 30x30 inches

“Cry for Freedom” is more than a portrait—it is a testimony.

It depicts an elderly man, fully sane, yet bound in chains. His outgrown hair and worn appearance reflect how prolonged oppression can strip dignity and distort perception. To the world, he may look broken or mad. But look closer. His eyes tell the truth.

They speak of captivity—mental, emotional, and physical. They speak of years of restraint, silenced pain, and a freedom long delayed. The tears held in his eyes are not tears of defeat, but of resistance. The chains symbolize every system, fear, injustice, trauma, or circumstance that keeps people bound while denying them a voice.

This artwork asks a painful but necessary question:
When a man cries for freedom for too long and no one listens, does the world begin to call him mad?

“Cry for Freedom” is for everyone who has ever been misunderstood, confined, ignored, or broken by forces beyond their control—yet still dared to hope.

This is not just art.
It is a voice.
It is a protest.
It is a cry the world must finally hear
