RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN NDI NARA UNATEZE AND AMAGUNZE
— History of unateze

One may ask the question: What is the relationship between the two town — are they truly blood brothers — who senior each other ❓,

However, the term between the two people is fraught with different controversies. As such, the quality love between these people are from generation to another. Though they may not be biological brothers but they walked as brothers amongst others. These folks has long troubled some notable personalities and other academic writers across the eastern part of Nigeria, Nkanu East and Awgu Local government area precisely. A precise definition of the term more, therefore, not be feasible.
It is worth of note that the people of Nara Unateze emanated from Ogwugwueze in the present day of Awgu while Amagunze are the descendants of a particular clan in Amagu Ikwo in the present day of Ebonyi State...

According to some interviews we had with some few notable elders from Unateze at Ogwugweze during they ancestral homage. History has it that the major relationship between them was that Amagunze mother happened to be a daughter of Nara. Another interview we had with some people of Amagunze and research has it that their relationship is not truly blood but friendship that turn to deep brothers. It happened that some group of Nara people came to Amagunze on a fateful day to trade as usual. On their way back, the river overflew the bank and the Nara people has to disembark and take shelter in Amagunze. They were well catered for.

The following day, Amagunze people helped them to cross over to continue the journey back home. On the way, they met Nara people who being worried that their kinsmen didn't return home, were on a fact-finding mission in Amagunze. Their kinsmen then explained to them what happened with and from there, the relationship started.

However, it is imperative to point out that the different definitions comes inn as our first research work, while we continue to dig into more with time constraints and service. Some folks may make someone to doubt or believe in different act through what they heard from they parent or kindred about the relationship but we encourage other historians to do the needful.

It is paramount important to remind the people from aforementioned towns that our ancestors has set many pace to keep us as one. We can't engage on fight or in any position to see our blood stain. Inhabitants of them are very large and posed from several different groups but we are regarded as one In terms of unity. brotherly and fairness..We are unique by standing out and embraced each others strength and weakness. We have from time believed In our friendship, lived in harmony for the betterment of all.

At this juncture, I Anebu Ngene (your Servant) will gladly implore you to understand unateze as a community of Royalty without any form of controversies. Also, more emphasis shall be led on our next edition in respect to this historical development as this was fairly highlighted for quick glance.

Kindly stay tune for further updates.

An Appeal for Quality Construction Oversight in Enugu State
To His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah,

We humbly request that a team of integrity-driven supervisors be established to oversee construction projects across Enugu State. Unfortunately, some contractors are delivering substandard work, exemplified by projects like the Nara to Nomeh road, which appears to be progressing at a slow pace.

Ensuring Quality Infrastructure
The creation of a supervisory team would help ensure that construction projects meet the required standards, enhancing the overall quality of infrastructure in the state. This initiative would not only improve the durability of these projects but also boost the state's development.

A Call for Action
We urge Your Excellency to take prompt action in addressing this issue, ensuring that the state's resources are utilized effectively to benefit its citizens. By doing so, Enugu State can continue to progress and thrive under your leadership.

Sunday Chukwu from Nomeh Unateze in Nkanu East LGA Sets Record with the World’s Largest Masquerade Sculpture.

Chukwu is a sculptor whose works serve both aesthetic and functional purposes. He has created several metallic gates that blend art and utility. His latest work, the Ijele masquerade, is to be mounted at the popular Obiagu roundabout—perhaps, soon to be renamed as the Ijele roundabout. One of Chukwu’s major goals with art is social sensitization. By placing this iconic piece in a public space, the aim is to inspire individuals to reclaim and celebrate their cultural past. Chukwu advocates for the pre-colonial civilization of the Igbo people which was largely overshadowed by the advent of westernization and by effect, religion.

In his work, there are detailed inscriptions of the Uli and Nsibidi symbols which speak to the timeless Igbo beliefs of good fortune, fertility and good living.

“I want to tell the stories of our people,” he said. “This is my own kind of political move.” he summed.

NARA_EARLY_EDUCATIONAL_HISTORY
Copied from Ikenga Unateze Heritage series article in 2020.

“Before the advent of colonial rules in the eastern part of Nigeria, there were local legislations existing culture and traditions exhibited by the native Igbo land. Consequently, there were several principles and rules of law brought by the colonial masters to administer tthe livelihoods and moral conduct of the easterners, education as one of the dominant factors was rejected by the people for they presumed it to be bad and could pose several problems that may affect their lives and that of their children. This led to some temporary conflict in the land and of which the colonial masters could only force education into the lives of the people.

History has it that education came to Nara in the year 1909 with the same missionaries service of Methodist church. As a result of this incident, people of Nara unateze town precisely, and her 7 ancient communities decided to come together at “Ogo–na–asaa” seven supreme deity serving seven supreme communities and agreed to make an oath on the purpose of education. Appropriate representatives were called upon as well as the heartland, were all people of Nara unateze emanated. Communities would produce each representative that would speak on behalf of his people and give concrete reasons\opinions.

Every representative from each community made a decree and declaration on the negative effect and impact of education on their people and may not be favorable. In contrast, it is only a representative from Umueze that insisted education should be introduced to his people. He further said that if education seen as evil today, let it follow him alone and affect his life but reverse is the case if it will be good in the future and favorable, let it follow his family and future generation. As a result of this utterance, many people were offended including his people from umueze. They became infuriated, caused him on his attempt to enslave them due to introduction of education on the land.

Sooner than later, when the entire villages discovered the positive effect and impact of education on their people they regretted their actions against the young man and appraised the people of umueze. In the world today, it should be borne in our minds that people of integrity and honesty are uniquely stand out just as well have in the umueze community. Although, in Nara unateze clan there are reputable and industrious professionals who are doing well in our ministry of education but professionals in umueze village were always the frontier in terms of educational background and other economic factors. They were the first community to produced the first Barrister in the whole if Nara unateze named late Barrister Edenwede, he was a renowned and wealthy barrister who had rendered monetary help and moral support to people of umueze over the time.”

:
I will earnestly and assiduously put immense effort in promoting our heritage, norms and culture in order to facilitate and foster change among our indigenous people of Nara Unateze, Enugu state.

This article was written in a comprehensive term; by Anebu Ngene (ikenga unateze heritage) on the platform of making the people of Nara Unateze to actualize their potentials, able to assimiliate and understand the basis of their heritage and culture. However, this is very imperative for the youths for it would enhance their level of understanding, boost the level of confidence within us as well as direct our paths in the land of the living. It will emancipate us from every ignorance and aspire us to activate and reach our goals in life.

Majority of individuas across the globe have become nonchalant about the love for mankind as portrayed by the people of umueze. There exist no unconditional love in the world today where a man would however choose to be overzealous for his selfish interest.

Furthermore, education has been one of the driving force that has enhance our way of life. It is the key to a better future and makes way for every born child. It enhance our way of reasoning. It has become a part of us after the advent of colonialism in the western world.

Long live Obodo iwe ewe 1 of Igboland
Long live Nkanu ethnicity and Enugu at large.
