Ook als je zelfstandig kunt werken en het prettig vindt om buiten de deur regelmatig met anderen te (samen) werken, dan ben je welkom! Gastdocenten leren je om meerdelige mallen te maken, voor buitenbeelden en brons, of een (zelf-)portret te boetseren op ware grootte. Het Raku stoken, een van oorsprong Japanse stooktechniek voor keramiek, is een dagvullende workshop waarbij het spel met vuur en de elementen onmiskenbaar is. Het atelier in Amsterdam (100 m van de Rozengracht, tram en bushalte ) is sfeervol, licht, schoon en ruim120 m2. Goed geoutilleerd met o.a. 2 elektrische draaischijven, een jumbo klei wals, en spuitcabine. Ter inspiratie en geheel tot je beschikking heeft het atelier een boekenkast met daarin een grote hoeveelheid keramiek tijdschriften en een zeer ruime sortering aan keramiek boeken. Naast al deze keramiek activiteiten organiseren wij geheel voor ons aller genoegen ism met Boekhandel Schimmelpennink en Jos van Hest maandelijks de Literaire salon Schilder & van Hest, die meer dan succesvol kan worden genoemd. KAPS was founded by Patty Schilder with the intention of creating a space where people could come together as a group to share creative energy and learn the craft of ceramic sculpture. The studio offers classes, workshops, lectures and studio rental space.
* Classes *
Sculptural Ceramic classes for adults of any skill level. Simple techniques for excellent results. An introduction to working with clay in a lovely Amsterdam studio. The Classes are designed for beginners as well as advanced individuals who would like to be under the personal guidance of a professional artist and teacher in her own studio. Beginners get explanations about tools, materials, techniques and modeling clay. You can bring ideas of your own, or respond to the techniques I will show you. When advanced, the emphasis is on developing your own concepts and deepen your own imagery.
* Open Studio *
An ideal option for those looking for a more relaxed and modern ceramic workspace. Keramiek Atelier Patty Schilder (KAPS) offers studio space available to rent at an affordable price. It's a great opportunity to explore your ceramic hobby in the company of other artists. The benefit of working with other ceramists, is inspirering and stimulating. Our studio is equipped with a slab roller, spray booth, two large kilns and additional tools.

Comfortable space. Ideal for board, committee, and staff, meetings & retreats as well as business meetings, classes/workshops, tutoring, and mediation. We also rent out the complete studio for all kinds of activities, ranging from (creative) workshops to lectures and social gatherings. * Raku *
Come and discover the ancient Japanese process of beautiful raku fired ceramics. In just a few hours you can walk out the door with a gorgeous pot, vase, planter, tile, urn or cup. We have an interesting selection of specially made raku glazes. Painting, sponging, dipping and spraying are some of the application techniques that make this glazing process spontaneous and delightful to discover.
