ILI GALLERY — THE NEXT STEP ❤️

After six wonderful years in De Hallen Amsterdam, it’s time for the next step.

ILI Gallery is leaving its permanent space and moving into a new, more flexible chapter — with pop-up exhibitions, curated art projects, collaborations and new locations.

And what better way to announce this next step than with this work by Piet Paris, perfectly capturing the feeling of taking a big step forward.

Because fashion is always on the move.

And so am I.

New places.
New collaborations.
New audiences.

Same passion for contemporary fashion illustration.

The ILI Gallery shop will continue, and I’ll keep sharing all upcoming exhibitions, collaborations and exciting new projects here.

From now on, the gallery is teaming up with selected art partners to give our artists an even broader platform and introduce their work to new audiences.

We’re excited to kick off this series with our first art partner: LUUKS x ILI Gallery.

For this collaboration, we found the perfect match between London-based emerging artist Joanna Layla and the beautiful shoe collection at LUUKS. Joanna’s sophisticated artworks complement the refined aesthetic of the collection, creating a unique setting where art and fashion come together.

We’re in the last days of our SHOES! Summer Group Show at ILI Gallery ~ celebrating one of fashion’s most iconic subjects through the work of artists from Amsterdam and around the world.

Featuring Astrid X Vos, Ravian Derrière, Carlotta Hay and Joanna Layla.

Visit the exhibition before it closes — in the gallery this Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. (Saturday closed!) from 12-5 PM ✨

Behind I Love Illustration Gallery is a love that started long before the gallery itself. ❤️

I’m Anneke Krull ~ curator, art director and founder of I Love Illustration Gallery. I’ve been working at the intersection of fashion, art and visual culture for more than 25 years.

Long before there was a gallery, there was I Love Illustration ~ a personal blog I started out of a love for illustration. I wanted to discover artists, share their work and show others just how powerful illustration can be.

In 2020, that story found a physical home: I Love Illustration Gallery in De Hallen Amsterdam.

Since then, I’ve worked with 30+ artists and presented more than 40 exhibitions.

Alongside the gallery, I continue to create pop-up events and online activations, while working through my agency ~ always looking for new ways to connect artists, brands and audiences.

Over the years, a wonderful community has grown around I Love Illustration.

Here’s a little selection from the past six years (and 1,000+ great pictures) ~ me, the artists, the gallery and some moments in between.

And, of course, my two cool sons, who have been running the bar throughout it all. 🫶🏻
