🔥GOODBYE ZEEBURGERPAD 53🔥

Garage Sale: Friday 9 January from 13:00 – 18:00 hrs |Saturday 10 January from 13:00 – 22:00 hrs

Cold in Church & Mauricio van der Maesen: Music set / installation, Saturday 10 January at 20:00 hrs

Wishing everybody a happy new year! We also have an important announcement to make, as we are finally saying goodbye to our beloved old location at Zeeburgerpad 53. We can safely say that this marks the end of an era, and of course we are saddened that this iconic place will cease to exist – as a successful experimental platform for art, as a studio facility for artists and as a go-to venue for a generation of art lovers. It is a loss for us and, above all, a loss for the city.

On 9 and 10 January, we warmly invite you to visit Zeeburgerpad 53 as we once found it: a vacant building with remnants and relics of its previous use. Not an exhibition, but a Garage Sale in the exhibition space – the former garage of the painting company from whom we took over the building in 2003.

There is everything, from publications and editions to chairs and dodgy refrigerators. (We will be posting some must-haves in the coming days, so keep an eye out.) And last but not least: Cold in Church and Mauricio van der Maesen will present their hybrid installation / musical set on Saturday January 10th at 20:00 hrs.

❤️Looking forward to seeing you then and there!

Colder than Churches,

As Cold in Church braces itself for releasing its Sophomore album, Convent, our large robes hide suggestively internal liveness. The Convent contains our new sound, which is both darker, heavier, and more heavenly.

RAFFAELE POLA - GROK

Raffaele Pola’s work is dedicated to exploring the autonomous evolution, preservation, and decay of systems. Rooted in sculpture and installation, he works with dead-end materials, found objects, and various scales of dust to create tactile, precarious assemblages that suggest both growth and disintegration. For the exhibition at P////AKT, he will present a reconfiguration of Emergence Threshold (2024), in combination with recent works. A text by Héloïse Chassepot will accompany the exhibition.

UP/////DATE - BOO 2
A small selection of works by Arto Van Hasselt, Huub Kooijman, Adriana Lasheras Mabanta, Paula Garcia Sans

Alongside Raffaele Pola’s exhibition we are presenting a small reunion of the other artists involved in Boo 2; an artist-run project space which started its activities in January 2022 in a vacant store at the Boven’t Y shopping centre.

Opening Sunday 9 November, 16: 00 - 19:00 hrs
Until 14 December, Thu - Sun 14:00 - 18:00 hrs

Though its sound suggests a sudden, almost guttural reflex, 'to grok' names a mode of apprehension that slips beyond the bounds of logic – an attunement shaped by intuition and empathy. Beneath the gaze of an unresponsive eye and the tilt of a waiting figure, something carries on in its own way, and the grokking continues.

Pola graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2021 and is currently completing his Master degree in Sculpture at the HFBK Hamburg.

Join us for the screening of Jivan van der Ende's short film 'Corporeal Corruption'

Date: Sunday 12 October, 18:00 – 19:00 hrs
Location: LAB111, Arie Biemondstraat 111, Amsterdam
Info + tickets: see www.pakt.nu

In her first short film Jivan van der Ende depicts her five-year collaboration with bodybuilder Jurgen van Wesemael. Through this disarming collaboration, the artist builds a bridge between two different worlds: the world of the spectacular Belgian bodybuilding championship, which is becoming increasingly popular among the young male generation, and the artist’s studio, where she reflects on the body/human being as a living sculpture within art and capitalist patriarchy. Through her abstract and playful visual language, the artist explores themes such as objectification and the link between our identity and social and political position.

The screening is organized in collaboration with
