Wat een dag en wat een gemeenschap! ✨

We kijken met dankbaarheid terug op IDFA meets Art Collective For Peace: een dag vol film, kunst, dialoog en verzet. Met krachtige filmvertoningen, een inspirerende Q&A, een workshop van Scientist Rebellion over de middelen en het recht om te demonstreren, en een expositie vol intrigerende kunst én onze nieuwe shirts.

Dankzij jullie is er €4302,65 opgehaald voor de HOPE Foundation, die onvermoeibaar werkt om kinderen te helpen in het door genocide verscheurde Gaza.

Een diepe dank aan , alle kunstenaars, vrijwilligers en bezoekers, jullie maakten deze dag mogelijk.

Kunst blijft een belangrijke vorm van verzet.

We’re looking back with gratitude at IDFA meets Art Collective For Peace: a day filled with film, art, dialogue, and resistance. With powerful screenings, an inspiring Q&A, a workshop by Scientist Rebellion on the means and the right to protest, an exhibition full of intruiging art, and of course our new shirts.

Thanks to you, we raised €4302.65 for the HOPE Foundation, which continues to fight to support children in genocide-torn Gaza.

[EN below] Fadi Al Meghari (, Gaza, Palestina) is dichter, fotograaf en multidisciplinair kunstenaar. Zijn werk, geworteld in belegering en overleven, balanceert tussen kwetsbaarheid en veerkracht en maakt van getuigenis kunst. Intiem, collectief en opstandig.

1001 Stabs (2025) is een van zijn meest persoonlijke werken: een multimediaal stuk dat tekst, beeld en geluid samenbrengt. Het gedicht destilleert zijn bestaan als Palestijn uit Gaza tot een indringende reis van verlies, volharding en verzet. Elke “steek” wordt niet alleen een wond, maar ook een getuigenis, een weigering om gewist te worden.

Fadi Al Meghari (, Gaza, Palestine) is a poet, photographer, and multidisciplinary artist. Rooted in siege and survival, his work balances fragility and resilience, turning testimony into art—intimate, collective, and defiant.

1001 Stabs (2025) is one of his most personal works: a multimedia piece combining text, image, and sound. The poem distills his life as a Palestinian from Gaza into a searing journey of loss, endurance, and resistance. Each “stab” becomes not only a wound, but also a testimony, a refusal to be erased.

Van 2021 tot 2022 woonde Loretta Monique () in Palestina, een keuze als protest: aanwezig zijn, getuigen en verhalen vastleggen die vaak overschaduwd worden door eenzijdige verslaggeving. Met analoge 35mm-fotografie legt ze intieme momenten en stille details van het dagelijks leven vast. Op ansichtkaartformaat nodigen haar beelden je uit dichtbij te komen en Palestijnen te zien als individuen met dromen, gezinnen en verlangens. Een visueel protest tegen ontmenselijking en vergetelheid.

Postcards from Palestine. From 2021 to 2022, Loretta Monique () lived in Palestine, a choice of protest: to be present, witness, and document stories often overshadowed by one-sided reporting. Using analog 35mm photography, she captures intimate moments and quiet details of everyday life. Presented as postcards, her images invite you closer, showing Palestinians as individuals with dreams, families, and desires. A visual protest against dehumanization and erasure.

[EN below] Het werk van Willemijn Theisens (, 1982) mengt activisme en contemplatie: soms hard en pijnlijk, soms stil en fragiel. Met materialen als botten, parels, koemelk en borduurwerk spreekt haar werk direct vanuit de werkelijkheid.

DAYS is een serie linoprints, telkens een hand die de kinderen symboliseert die dagelijks in Palestina worden vermoord. Elke print markeert een dag, en omdat het geweld doorgaat, groeit de serie verder sinds de start van het werk – 471/470, 472/470… Door door te blijven drukken, zolang onrecht blijft bestaan, wordt kunst een daad van verzet en solidariteit.

DAYS is a series of linocut prints, each representing the hand of a child killed in Palestine. Each print marks a day, and as the violence continues, the series keeps growing since starting the artwork – 471/470, 472/470… In this way, the work becomes an act of resistance and solidarity.

[EN below] Kunstenaar Jonat Deelstra (, 1991) onderzoekt in zijn werk hoe mensen zich tot elkaar en hun omgeving verhouden, vaak met een vervreemdende en magisch-realistische ondertoon.

Met zijn serie Frozen Bouquets creëert hij kleine monumenten van geglazuurde klei en porselein. De gedroogde bloemen die model stonden, verdwenen in de hitte van de oven — wat overblijft is een fragiele echo van het verleden. Voor wie richt je dit monument op?

Artist Jonat Deelstra (, 1991) explores in his work how humans relate to each other and their environment, often with a surreal, magical-realist undertone.

In his series Frozen Bouquets, he creates small monuments from glazed clay and porcelain. The dried flowers that served as models burned away in the kiln — leaving only a fragile echo of the past. For whom do you raise this monument?

Keramiek kunstenaar Koos Buster (, 1991, Amsterdam) staat bekend om zijn zoektocht naar de perfecte dwaasheid en het vieren van het alledaagse. Zijn werk combineert humor, vakmanschap en een geheel eigen stijl. Tijdens deze expo doneert hij een van zijn iconische stukken: de beveiligingscamera, een alledaags object op ware grootte, vastgelegd in klei. Dit unieke kunstwerk is te koop voor €668,-.

Ceramic artist Koos Buster (, 1991, Amsterdam) is known for his search for foolish perfection and the celebration of the everyday. His work combines humor, craftsmanship, and a distinctive style. For our expo, he donates one of his iconic pieces: the security camera, a life-size everyday object recreated in clay. This unique artwork is available for €668,-.

Shanita de Vries (; zij/haar) is keramist, modeontwerper en stylist, met een achtergrond in Stockholm en Parijs bij onder meer Acne Studios. Nu gevestigd in Amsterdam, combineert ze haar modeachtergrond met een intuïtieve omgang met klei, waarin experiment en expressie centraal staan.

Haar serie Punkers, bestaande uit de keramische vazen Johnny, Vivienne en Siouxsie, brengt een ode aan de Britse punkbeweging van de jaren ’70 en ’80. Met hanenkammen, piercings en felgekleurde kapsels belichamen de vazen de rebelse geest van een subcultuur die zich verzette tegen de gevestigde orde. 100% van de opbrengst gaat naar HOPE Foundation.

Shanita de Vries (; she/her) is a ceramicist, fashion designer and stylist, with a background in Stockholm and Paris at Acne Studios among others. Now based in Amsterdam, she merges her fashion experience with a more intuitive, experimental approach to clay.

Her series Punkers, consisting of the ceramic vases Johnny, Vivienne and Siouxsie, pays homage to the British punk movement of the 1970s and 1980s. With mohawks, piercings and brightly dyed hair, the vases embody the rebellious spirit of a subculture that stood against the establishment. 100% of proceeds will be donated to HOPE Foundation.

Nijs Ruijs (he/him) is een autodidact beeldend kunstenaar die werkt met installatie, performance, fotografie, conceptuele kunst en poëzie. Zijn praktijk is regeneratief en draait om stilte, aandacht, transformatie en participatie. Tussen introspectie en ecologische verbondenheid gebruikt hij de geest als zintuiglijk instrument om verstrengelingen tussen mens en meer-dan-mens te onderzoeken. Zijn werk nodigt uit tot momenten van resonantie, waar nieuwe vormen van verbondenheid ontstaan.

Zijn werk 'All Eyes On The Hague' is een visueel protest geïnspireerd op Foucault's panopticon: een samenleving waarin burgers zichzelf disciplineren onder het idee dat ze voortdurend bekeken worden. Door deze logica om te keren, wordt de macht zélf het object van observatie. Met generatieve AI ontwikkelde Ruijs grafische beelden die de onzichtbare geboden van de stad transformeren in een taal van verzet.

Nijs Ruijs (he/him) is a self-taught visual artist working across installation, performance, photography, conceptual art, and poetry. His practice is regenerative, centering on stillness, attentiveness, transformation, and participation. Moving between introspection and ecological interconnectedness, he uses the mind as a sensory instrument to explore the entanglements between the human and the more-than-human. His work invites moments of resonance, where new ways of relating to ourselves, each other, and the world unfold.

His work 'All Eyes On The Hague' is a visual protest inspired by Foucault’s panopticon: a society where citizens discipline themselves under the mere idea of being watched. By reversing this logic, power itself becomes the object of surveillance. Co-developed with generative AI, the graphic design translates these silent commands into a language of protest, asking how we navigate the tension between social conditioning and inner moral judgment.
