Rhythm isn’t just something you hear. It’s something you see, feel and paint! 🎨

This month we’re exploring visual rhythm: how music, movement and emotion translate into colour, shape and flow. How sound becomes image, and how art can carry the energy of music in a way you can see.

Did you know one of the easiest ways to draw flowers and plants is by following their shadows? By tracing the natural shapes and forms created by light, you can quickly build a more realistic sketch. 🪻

In this video, our technical advisor Justyna shows how she draws a plant using a Pigma Micron and finishes the artwork with watercolour. 🎨

Create striking, one-of-a-kind textures by gently heat-manipulating GOLDEN Clear Tar Gel. 🔥As the surface cools, the transformation begins: organic patterns and unexpected effects emerge while the material settles.

Try tinting the gel to introduce subtle or bold colour variations, and experiment with different surfaces to explore how it behaves. A simple material, with a wide range of visual possibilities. 🎨

Rebuilding a country can start with something small. A pencil ✏️

After WWII, classrooms across the Netherlands were empty. No materials, no tools, no colour. In that moment, the Dutch government asked Cornelis Bruynzeel to start producing pencils to help rebuild education and create jobs.

It was a huge challenge. Materials were scarce, machinery had to be found, and there was a strict six-month deadline.

He said yes. Six months later, the first Bruynzeel pencils were made. Not perfect at first, but improving step by step.

What began as a necessity became a legacy that still exists today.

Which creative tool from your childhood shaped you the most, and why? 💬
