A Weekend of Art, Design, and Gastronomy

First and foremost, a big thank you to everyone who visited us at GLUE Utrecht last weekend during the Remy Meijers event at the Fundatie van Renswoude.

It was a truly inspiring weekend. During the day, we enjoyed wonderful conversations with visitors amidst the art and design. As evening fell, the atmosphere transformed as the location became a high-class pop-up restaurant, featuring Michelin-starred chefs. Seeing my work in such a vibrant, sophisticated setting was an amazing experience—one that I certainly hope to continue in the future!

None of this would have been possible without the incredible team behind the scenes. A massive thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly to bring this event to life; your dedication, professionalism, and eye for detail made the entire experience seamless and unforgettable. It was a privilege to collaborate with such a talented group of people.

A few weeks ago in Cologne, we met some really lovely people who instantly fell in love with the large painting Yui. The next day, I drove to their absolutely stunning home to deliver the work.

Today, I received a photo of the painting hanging on their wall, and it made my day. Moments like this remind me how lucky I am to be able to make people happy with my art.

ABOUT YUI
For this large painting (230 × 200 cm), I let myself be guided by the track “Yui” by Pjusk. It’s already the third time I’ve painted to the music of this Norwegian artist.

This track has a pulsating, ongoing beat that carried me through the process—steady, hypnotic, and grounding. Layer by layer, I built the atmosphere I felt: brownish tones with bronze, copper, and sandy pink, finished with 24K gold elements catching the light.

A new world emerged on the canvas—the place I wanted to be in that moment.

During the Design Festival GLUE Utrecht, interior designer Remy Meijers transforms De Fundatie van Renswoude in the heart of Utrecht into an intimate pop-up fine dining restaurant.

Three evenings, three exceptional chefs:  
• May 8 - Leon Mazairac (Karel 5, 1 Michelin star)  
• May 9 - Niels van Zijl (Heimat, Green Star)  
• May 10 - Ollie Schuiling (Kasteel Heemstede, 1 Michelin star)  

During the day, the location is open to the public and various beautiful brands will showcase their expertise. I will also be present with a selection of my latest ‘Art Driven By Music’ paintings and a hand-knotted carpet.

Today I had the joy of making some wonderful people happy.
A few months ago they purchased one of my paintings, and after keeping it safely in my studio, the moment finally came for delivery and installation.
Seeing my work find its place is always special, but this spot… on this beautifully rebuilt floor… feels like it was meant to be. My painting “Our Era” has truly found its new home, and I couldn’t have imagined a better one.

Last year I had the joy of creating a large commissioned painting for a wonderful couple in Belgium. Today they sent me an update of their newly restyled space—and I was genuinely amazed.

They designed and had a custom couch made to sit in front of the artwork… and the match is so perfect it feels like the painting and the room were made for each other. I couldn’t resist sharing.
