The collection also embraces select paintings from the 17th until 19th centuries, and different decorative arts including European and Oriental porcelain, Delftware, silver and tapestries. The in-house furniture restoration studio offers special services to clients. Antique dealer and expert, Pieter Hoogendijk was trained in the art of furniture restoration for two years in Paris and studied at th
e Ecole du Louvre. He then completed the Works of Art Course with Sotheby’s in London, was employed by an auction house in Zurich, and in 1976 became a qualified furniture expert and general appraiser. He is a Registered Broker-Appraiser art, antiques and furniture and antique furniture, certified Broker/Appraiser art, antiques and (antique) furniture in compliance with the European standard EN-45013. The only person/specialist in The Netherlands who may call himself ‘Furniture Expert’. Since November 1978 he took part in the Antique fair in Maastricht and many more exhibitions followed in Europe and the United States of America. He now only exhibits at The European Fine Art Fair in Maastricht. Pieter Hoogendijk is member of the Association of Fine Art Dealers in the Netherlands (Vereeniging van Handelaren in Oude Kunst in Nederland) since 1997, president of the Confédération Internationale des Négociants en Oeuvres d’Art (CINOA), member of the Federatie TMV and member of the Syndicat National des Antiquaires (France).
