Galleri Seilduken er et null-profitt, studentdrevet visningsrom ved Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo. Det har som siktemål å skape en arena hvor studenter kan vise frem sine arbeider og utforske gallerirommet. Galleri Seilduken is a non-profit, student-run exhibition room at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. The aim of the gallery is to create an arena where students can showcase their works and explore the gallery room.

🟪 UTSTILLING 🟪

I “DINOSAURENE & EGGET”
følger vi to mennesker som undersøker verden med enkle, nesten hverdagslige blikk: en som leter etter spor etter noe så ufattelig stort som dinosaurer, og en som oppdager hvor uventet sterkt noe lite kan være. Filmene minner oss om at materialene rundt oss ikke bare er ting, men motstand, tid, minner og berøringer. Her blir både jorden og egget til en videosamtale, og i møtet mellom kunstnerne og det de undersøker, oppstår et rom der vi kan kjenne igjen vår egen forsiktige kontakt med verden.

ECHO ECHO - Group exhibition - metal department - Seilduken 1 - 30/10 - 1/11 2025

We at the metal department invite you to our exhibition on Thursday 30.10! Everyone is welcome as we interpret our take on the theme echo.

No true circle exists. No matter how much we wish them to. This is true on at least two accounts, the practical and emotional plane. In truth only the approximation (sometimes approaching into the infinite C→0) of the circle shows itself. No pure form naturally exists.
The circle is nonetheless useful in the human mind. For many History unfolds circularly and
repetition is seen as a law of nature. A rhythm of events, ideas and spirit in a closed loop (ie. The
circle). It is a soothing and functional form.
When we are met with the familiar, one’s mind can turn to circles not realizing it is lasting shadows cast from something there before. Karmatic gestures still vibrating through the air. Casting itself as sound against canyon walls.
If acoustic remanence is to be believed, this first gesture is still traceable and will be so forever.
Able to be picked up through the finest of instruments. Every word immortal.
Soothing and terrifying.

En uplanlagt hjemmefødsel å plutselig var jeg både jordmor og far til 3.

Historier fra oppveksta mellom blokkene på Søndre og ut som byvanker.

13 år med fysisk tid nylig seremonielt kutta fra hodet mitt.

Apropos hodet, det er noe inni der som ikke skulle vært der, en.. en svulst sa de på Ullevål.

Gjennom konstruksjon og dekonstruksjon lager vi avtrykk av det som er nå, det som har vært, og det som aldri ble. I et grenseland på tvers av virkelighetsforståelser, i fravær og i nærvær, i det evige og det forgjengelige, finnes det et fellespunkt? Om vi skulle finne noe, er det slipt, etset og ivaretatt.

Through construction and deconstruction, we create impressions of what is now, what has been, and what never came to be. In a borderland between different perceptions of reality, between absence and presence, between the eternal and the transient, is there a common ground? If we are to find something, it is polished, etched, and preserved.

The exhibition “The tools in my shed don’t work like I thought they would” explores the themes of helplessness and powerlessness you feel when faced with a crisis that seem too big to overcome, that you don’t know where to start or whether it would even matter if you did.

I think of every new skill or new knowledge I acquire as tool for me to put into a metaphorical toolbox. I have done this since I was a child. When faced with a new challenge, I would dig around in my “toolbox” for something that could help me overcome what I was up against. If nothing fit, I would make a new tool that could get the job done out of necessity. Some would work well, and others not. A few tuned out to be hazardous and unreliable and had to be removed.

But what do you do when you come up against something massive and unapproachable, that your learned coping skills aren’t only wrong for the job, but feel laughably inadequate? When every tool you bring out of the shed or the toolbox seem twisted, bent or misshapen.
