Featured:
ELIN MELBERG
Elin Reboli Melberg (b. 1976) lives and works in Stavanger and holds a Master’s
degree from the Royal College of Art in London (2002). She is known for her
installations, monumental sculptures, and textile works.
Her labor-intensive practice is characterized by the use of everyday materials and
personal memories. In her textile works, she explores embroidery, weaving, and
knitting — one thread at a time. Melberg seeks a conscious vulnerability and
imperfection in her works, where mistakes and dropped stitches become
metaphors for life itself rather than technical perfection.
Melberg has completed numerous public commissions and created textile
scenography for performing arts productions, including Elle Sofe Sara’s critically
acclaimed performance “Vástádus eana.” Her works have been acquired by Stavanger Art Museum, Haugaland Museum, KORO, Equinor, Kistefos and the Oslo Municipal Art Collection.
