Studio17 invites you to the exhibition opening of Crude Milk by our current artists in residence, VidAmir (Vida Kashani & Amir Komelizadeh).
🗓 Exhibition opening: Thursday 7 May 18:00–21:00
The exhibition continues Friday and Saturday (8–9 May)
Crude Milk is a multi channel video installation combining moving image, text, sound and sculpture.
The work reflects on what it means to live within an oil nation, materially, psychologically and politically. It explores a central contradiction where welfare and comfort coexist with extraction, dependency and unease.
Drawing on Norse and Iranian mythologies, Crude Milk approaches oil not only as a resource, but as inheritance shaping memory, identity and everyday life.
At its center is a divided voice questioning how one resists a system one also benefits from.
