𝐃𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐨 (Dorcas Poloczek y Reyes) is an award-winning Filipina visual artist, poet, and writer whose multidisciplinary work intersects culture, diaspora, and human resilience.

After a distinguished, decades-long career as an ICU, oncology, and palliative care nurse in West Germany, Dorie underwent a profound personal transformation following her retirement and breast cancer survival in 2019. This pivotal chapter sparked a prolific creative era, turning her lived experiences into powerful artistic commentary on faith and memory.

Based in Europe, she is a leading figure in the Filipino literary diaspora. Her literary portfolio includes the 2025 collection Hibla ng mga Tula sa Anit ng Gunita, while her visual and literary contributions have earned global distinctions, including major accolades in Paris (2018), Rome (2023), and Milan (2024). Dorie continues to leverage her platform to elevate cultural pride and foster international creative exchange.

𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲: 𝐕𝐢ệ𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐦

𝐓𝐚𝐨 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐡 is a distinguished self-taught painter based in Hanoi, Vietnam, who transitioned into working as a full-time professional artist in 2010. His exhibition history spans over three decades, beginning with his debut joint exhibition alongside Bui Minh Dung in September 1993 at the Hanoi Fine Art Association on Trang Tien Street. In March 2014, he reached a major milestone with his first solo exhibition, "A Gang of Silence," held at the prominent Gallery 39A Ly Quoc Su in Hanoi.

Since then, his work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions across Vietnam, including major cultural hubs like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, and Hoi An. Globally, Tao Linh has represented Vietnamese contemporary art in international workshops and exhibitions across Malaysia, Germany, China, and North Macedonia.

He currently operates from his studio located at No. 4/90, Yen Lac Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi. Benedikt is an artist from Vienna who is deeply grateful to be part of a growing movement that brings Filipino art, culture, and history — in all its local forms and expressions — to the global forefront.

His artistic journey began at the age of five through traditional drawing, painting, sculpture, and later digital art. Over time, these creative foundations evolved into a personal visual language shaped by colorful abstraction, expressive waves, swirls, and impulsive strokes that reflect his thoughts and emotions.

At the same time, Benedikt's work is rooted in a longing to reconnect with his Filipino heritage. He is especially drawn to Philippine languages, indigenous scripts, and suyat traditions, particularly Baybayin, which continue to inspire his evolving interpretations and forms. Through art, he explores the relationship between the precolonial past and the ongoing future of his ancestral homeland, expressing both reverence and imagination in how these histories continue to live within us.

No matter what becomes of the Philippines, his hope for older, current, and future generations of Filipino artists and cultural advocates around the world is that they continue to stay connected to the living spirit of their ancestors through bayanihan, while also striving toward a better future for their beloved Pinas.

Description:

This piece reflects my soul and my Filipino roots. The crying eye with a smile represents emotion, resilience, and identity. The words “sulat kaluluwa” and “sulat pinanggalingan” are painted like roots growing from the earth, symbolizing our connection to Filipino ancestry, no matter where we are born or raised.

Through this work, I wanted to reconnect with pre-colonial Filipino culture by bringing Baybayin onto the canvas as my small contribution to preserving our traditional arts and identity. I was also inspired by kutkut, an ancient art technique from Samar similar to sgraffito, where layers are scratched or etched to create texture. This gives the painting a worn, aged feeling, almost like an old photograph.

𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐡 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐠 was born in Hanoi and, shortly afterwards, moved to Saigon, where he established a career and became a successful businessman in the healthcare and education sectors.

His passion for painting has never stopped since he was young; he has kept learning from master artists. There are two great painters whom he admires the most: Willem de Kooning and Gauguin.

He was also inspired by the Cubist works of Pablo Picasso and the Surrealism of Salvador Dali. He collects the works of artists such as Nguyen Tu Nghiem, Tran Luu Hau, and Tran Hai Minh. His house is a personal museum, with miniature works of art which he loves and cherishes. Most of such pieces belong to the schools of impressionism and abstract expressionism.

At the center, a womb-like form suggests an inner nucleus, evoking a generative core. Layered textures and flowing lines create a sense of movement, as if life circulates between the figures. The composition conveys both intimacy and collectivity, where the female body becomes a site of origin, accumulation, and continuity.

𝐓𝐚𝐨 𝐇𝐮𝐨𝐧𝐠 is an artist from Hanoi, Vietnam. She graduated from the Graphic Department of the University of Industrial Fine Arts, and then obtained a Master of Fine Arts from Vietnam Fine Arts University. She used to be the Dean of the Fine Arts Faculty of Hoa Binh University. She is currently a member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, and she is also a member of the Asian Art Association of the Global Committee of Artists (Painting).

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the University of Industrial Fine Arts, Tao Huong has worked as a designer for 20 years at Vietnam Education Publishing House. After graduating with a master of Arts, she switched to being an art teacher

Tao Huong pursues a surreal romantic style. She believes that "the beauty of the work must come from the artist's heart", so she respects the emotions and vibrations of the artist because those factors make the work successful.
She has composed many large-format portraits and semi-abstract landscapes. Tao Huong has participated in many domestic and international exhibitions in India, Indonesia, Korea, Germany, Malaysia, Japan, China, Nepal, the Philippines... The vibe, vibrant colors, soft brushstrokes, and femininity are considered her strongest strengths.

𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲: 𝐕𝐢ệ𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐦

𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐡 𝐓𝐮𝐨𝐧𝐠 is a distinguished Vietnamese visual artist and designer with a rich background in both traditional fine arts and contemporary media. He holds a degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Hanoi University of Theatre and Film. With over 15 years of professional experience, he has contributed extensively to the art design of numerous television programs, films, and major cultural and artistic events.

Dedicated to the advancement of the arts in his home country, he is an active member of both the Hanoi Fine Arts Association and the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.

𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
Throughout his career, Can Manh Tuong has showcased his work in numerous prominent national and international exhibitions.
His recent engagements in 2025 include the Evolution of Heritage exhibition at Trang Tien Plaza in Hanoi, the Fields of Memories exhibition at Hoiana Resort and Golf, the 80 Years of Fine Arts and Photography exhibition, and a dedicated Lacquer Art exhibition. He also marked his third consecutive year participating in the Vietnam - Korea Cultural Exchange Exhibition, having previously joined in 2023 and 2024.

His international presence includes a 2024 exhibition of his lacquer paintings and products in France, alongside multiple participations in the Gimhae International Biennale Exhibition in South Korea in both 2021 and 2023. Additionally, he participated in the 2021 Singapore-Vietnam "Art Meets Place" International Exhibition.
On the national stage, his work was featured in the National Fine Arts Exhibition at the Hanoi Museum in 2023, and the Lacquer Pathways exhibition at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in 2022. He is a recurring contributor to the Regional Exhibition 1 organized by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, participating in 2020, 2021, and 2024, as well as the Capital City Fine Arts Exhibitions in 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022.

As part of collective artist movements, he exhibited with The Brothers Group at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum for their Vol 1, Vol 2, and Vol 3 series in 2021, 2022, and 2024, respectively. His earlier group showcases include the 2021 Lacquer Painting Thematic Exhibition hosted by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, the 2018 April Group Exhibition at the Fine Arts Association Exhibition House on 16 Ngo Quyen, and the 2018 Lam Exhibition with the Traditional Lacquer Painting Group at the Hanoi University of Fine Arts.

The artwork "Boundary" is inspired by concrete seawalls, the waves crashing against them and creating balance. Similarly, in our lives, we face many storms and obstacles, but we must learn to confront and overcome them. In my painting, the sky, earth, and water are always in a cycle, like life itself, with the boundary between day and night – land and water – always in harmony. The boundary is always a state of both movement and stillness.

Throughout her career, Vu Bach Lien has earned significant recognition from prestigious art associations for her evocative and diverse works. In 2008, her piece "Đầm thu” was awarded by the Ha Noi Fine Art Association. Her consistent excellence was further highlighted across a span of years—including 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017—when she received the B Award at the "Sculpture Graphic Exhibition, North of Viet Nam" (presented by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association) for a powerful collective of works: the woodcuts "ĐÔNG VỀ" and "HÈ SANG", the woodcut and monoprint "NHÂN GIAN", the fingerprint and monotip piece "HỌ- MỘT PHẦN CUỘC ĐỜI TÔI", and the installation "MẠCH ĐỜI". She followed this success in 2019 by winning the C Award at the same regional exhibition for her piece "SỐ PHẬN".

Vu Bach Lien's individual masterpieces have also garnered top-tier national accolades. Her 2011 woodcut, "ĐÔNG VỀ - Winter", secured the First Prize at the National Fine Arts Exhibition, presented by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association. A few years later in 2015, "ĐÔNG VỀ" earned further distinction, winning the Bronze Medal Prize from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Department of Fine Art, Photography and Exhibition. Her exploration of human connection continued to thrive with "HỌ- MỘT PHẦN CUỘC ĐỜI TÔI", which won the C Prize at the National Fine Arts Exhibition in 2016, and later achieved the B Award at the Triển Lãm Việt Nam in 2020.

𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐮𝐚𝐧 is a powerhouse of contemporary Vietnamese art whose creative vision bridges local tradition with a global stage. Born and raised in the cultural heart of Hanoi, Tuan honed his craft at the prestigious Vietnam University of Fine Arts, the historic breeding ground for the nation’s master artists graduating in 1996. He officially announced his arrival on the fine arts scene in 2004 with a debut solo exhibition prophetically titled "Milestone" at the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum, launching a career that would soon break international borders.

Driven by an insatiable curiosity, Tuan became a global art nomad, traveling extensively across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East from the galleries of France, Germany, and the Netherlands to art hubs in the UAE, Singapore, and the Philippines. A major pinnacle of this cross-cultural journey came in 2011, when he curated the groundbreaking Open Lacquer project at the Hampden Gallery in Massachusetts, USA, masterfully uniting Vietnamese traditions with international contemporary artists.

In 2019, Tuan manifested his ultimate dream by founding 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 in Hanoi. More than just a gallery, it is a thriving, living ecosystem designed for global creative exchange. Today, Tuan works as a prolific, full-time artist, continuously pushing boundaries, hosting vibrant exhibitions, and inviting art lovers from around the world to experience the evolving soul of Vietnamese contemporary art firsthand.
