The ART EXHIBIT at the Baguio Museum is hosting the third installment of a regional art initiative titled “Harampang 3.0". This exhibit marks a meaningful milestone in our ongoing effort to foster cultural exchange with different regions, bringing together artists from Baguio and Eastern Visayas in a spirit of solidarity and shared purpose.

Leyte, Visayas successfully hosted the first two editions of Harampang, providing an inclusive platform for dialogue, mutual learning, and artistic expression. For this third iteration, we hope to bring the spirit of Harampang to Baguio City—enriching the experience with the depth of Cordilleran creativity and culture.
Rooted in the Waray term "harampang," which means “to meet, converse, and come together,” the exhibition seeks to nurture meaningful relationships, promote cultural understanding, and cultivate a strong sense of camaraderie between artists and communities from both regions. Beyond the exhibit, we envision hosting parallel activities such as artist talks, sketching, and collaborative sessions that encourage further interaction and knowledge-sharing.

HARAYA (n.) Imagination, Vision

Imagine children diving into lessons with wide-eyed wonder, their curiosity sparked like fireflies at dusk. They learn deepest when topics feel alive and personal, when their innate imagination flows freely. Forget flat printed visuals-in a Steiner-Waldorf school like Balay Sofia, hands awaken through drawing, painting, sewing. knitting, crocheting, carpentry-work, metal-work, and carving. Abstract ideas take shape: math becomes a woven tapestry, history a carved story. Art is not just play. It is the bridge to sharper minds and warmer hearts, inspiring cognitive growth and emotional depth. Education is breathing and alive!

While many schools chase screens-tablets for notes, PowerPoint slides for lessons-Balay Sofia revives the magic of hands-on wonder. Here, big concepts bloom through touch and vision, balancing head, heart, and hands in true holistic harmony. Picture a child who grasps abstract terms, explains them clearly, and crafts them into meaningful, soulful artwork.

That's the Waldorf way: whole-child education that truly heals and thrives.

Step into the Haraya Art Exhibit, a radiant gallery of Balay Sofia students' creations. It reveals how the arts nurture budding imaginations and skills, igniting curiosity and forging deep bonds with the world's beauty and mysteries.
