Happy International Day for Biological Diversity!

One fruit, so many flavors! Alam niyo ba na maraming uri ng saging right here in the Philippines?

From the sweet and soft Cavendish to the chewy, cooking-ready Saba, our planet’s rich biodiversity o saribuhay is what keeps our kusina creations exciting. Every single one of these varieties plays a unique part in our ecosystems and our heritage!

Kaya alagaan natin ang kalikasan and celebrate the beautiful, complex web of life that sustains us all.

Head over to the Hall of Natural History on your next visit to learn more about the incredible evolution of bananas!

Dito lang sa The Catsup Museum, a project of NutriAsia and The Mind Museum.

Sa The Catsup Museum malalaman lahat yan.

Why is Banana Catsup Red?

And like many inventions, the recipe evolved and improved!

Since then, nadagdagan ito ng food colorants, vinegar, sweeteners, extra spices at iba pang ingredients to create the red tamis-anghang catsup we love today!

Meet Maria Ylagan Orosa, the brilliant mind behind the Pinoy favorite Banana Catsup!

Her impressive journey from advanced studies in the U.S. to her brave service during WWII truly highlights Filipino excellence. Her inventions, such as Soyalac and Darak, brought hope and saved many lives when food was scarce. She showed that food technology is a life-saving science!

Visit the Maria Ylagan Orosa Hall at the Catsup Museum for a dollop of history and inspiration!
