“Heritage on the Street”
24 x 18 inches
Soft pastels and pastel pencils on Canson Mi-Tients Touch paper
2025
This painting presents an array of keychains of Filipino street foods such as kwek-kwek, fishballs, taho, banana cue, siomai, etc. Small as they are, these tokens embody the vibrant spirit of the streets: the vendor’s lively calls, the laughter shared among friends, and the comfort of a simple snack enjoyed on the go. Each piece is more than a trinket, it is a reminder that street food is not just about flavor but about memory, community, and identity. Through these humble bites, Heritage on the Street celebrates how everyday tastes have become timeless markers of Filipino culture
I am honored that my work was included in the 10th PPA National Pastel Juried Competition.
Please visit the 10th National Convention at The Manila Clock Tower until November 7, 2025.
