Camarines Norte Joins the Bicol Fiesta Haraya Creatives Industry Assembly

Legazpi City became a creative hub on November 26, 2024, as the Bicol Fiesta Haraya Creatives Industry Assembly brought together creative industry stakeholders from across the region. Hosted at the Marison Hotel, this gathering aimed to celebrate Bicol’s culture, creativity, and community while fostering collaboration and innovation among the six provinces of the region.

The event was graced by keynote speaker Jo-Dann Darong, Assistant Director for the Competitiveness and Innovation Group of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), who emphasized the vital role of creativity and innovation in driving local economies forward. His inspiring address set the tone for the day, highlighting how creative industries contribute to inclusive economic growth.

Other distinguished speakers included representatives from the National Museum, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the Department of Tourism (DOT Region V). Each shared valuable insights on topics ranging from cultural preservation and digital innovation to creative tourism and science-driven creativity. Their collective expertise underscored the importance of a multi-sectoral approach in advancing the creative economy.

Representing Camarines Norte at this prestigious event were the Camarines Norte Artists Guild (CNAG) with members: Dhon Jason de Belen, Cres Adlawan, Arwin Diaz, and Jill Aguirre, along with delegates from, the Provincial Tourism Operations Office, and Museo Bulawan.

The Bicol Fiesta Haraya Creatives Industry Assembly was a testament to the power of creativity and collaboration. With the support of DTI Region V Bicol and DTI Camarines Norte, the event provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, partnerships, and opportunities that will further propel Bicol’s creative industries onto the national and international stage.
