🤎 Ika 10 na Mayo taong 2026
🤎 Maligayang Araw ng mga Ina!
🤎 INA

In Dapitan City, the untold stories of Dr. Jose Rizal
and Don Mariano Hamoy—the stories of
FRIENDSHIP LOYALTY LOVE
🤎 Balay Hamoy Museum offers guided tours from
Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Advance booking is required to secure your

Step into history through our curated tour, Dr.
Jose Rizal’s Life in Dapitan, and discover his deep
connection with the original owner of Balay Hamoy,
Don Mariano Balsomo Hamoy, a proud Dapitanon.

During Rizal’s exile in Dapitan (July 17, 1892 – July
31, 1896), he and Don Mariano formed a
remarkable friendship. Beyond companionship,
they became business partners in the abaca trade
and helped establish what is considered the first
farmers’ cooperative in the Philippines.

Rizal was a frequent guest at Balay Hamoy, often
visiting with his family and friends from Calamba.
In a touching moment of trust and friendship, he
even assisted in delivering the first child of Don
Mariano and Doña Pilar—baby Pablo.

Their bond was rooted in friendship, loyalty, and
love. Even after Rizal left Dapitan and was later
executed in Bagumbayan, Don Mariano remained
steadfast and loyal to his dear friend.
