NEW EXHIBITION ALERT! 📣

"Sinulid at Hibla: Threaded Traditions of Philippine Textiles," opens today at the 4F galleries!

Textiles serve as a language—a form of visual communication through which personal and communal identity is asserted and shared.

Across the Philippine archipelago, the specific geometry of a weave, the thickness of the threads, or the arrangement of beadwork acts as a distinct signature, marking a community’s lineage, geography, and sacred boundaries.

Yet, if we peer beyond the silhouette of these differences, a more profound narrative of connection begins to surface. "Sinulid at Hibla" (Thread and Fiber) invites us to look beneath the immediate surface differentiation to uncover a shared technical and material vocabulary that defines Filipino cultures.

Still not over this! 🎤🚌

Last May 14, the Ayala Museum was honored to host the Wish 107.5 Roadshow! Lucky museum guests and passersby along Makati Avenue were treated to stellar performances from Jack Gray, Nobita, Lola Amour, Mika Salamanca.

Artists Nobita and Jack Gray also enjoyed their first-ever tour of our galleries, where they encountered our pre-colonial gold collection, the dioramas of Philippine history, and the iconic paintings of Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, and Fernando Zóbel.

Seeing these incredible musical artists find inspiration in our galleries was a beautiful reminder of how different art forms continue to express and celebrate our shared heritage.

This year's theme focuses on museums as catalysts for connection—reminding us that these are more than spaces of preservation. They are trusted public spaces where we encounter stories, objects, and one another to foster dialogue, inclusion, and peace.

To celebrate, we have a line-up of programs this National Heritage Month designed to highlight the traditions, crafts, and forms of artistic expression that connect us all:

May 19: Our brand-new textiles exhibition opens, centering around shared weaving and embroidery techniques across different indigenous groups.

May 23: The first AMagine Kids Expressive Arts Workshop, giving children a meaningful space to create and express themselves.

May 24: An exciting conversation and hands-on workshop with Filipina fashion and heritage icon, Patis Tesoro.

The NHM Hack:
