This room served as an aula or classroom for the early Filipinos where they were taught music, art, and catechism. In the 18th century, this space became the Office of the Procurator and later on it became the Sala Recibidor to receive guests.

The sala currently features the arrival of the early Augustinian missionaries and the expeditions that led to the historic encounters of this archipelago with the Western World.
Among these exchanges are the accounts of the β€˜Finding of the Venerated Image of the Santo NiΓ±o’, β€˜The Discovery of the Tornaviaje’ and β€˜The Manila-Acapulco Galleon Route’.

With great joy and appreciation, Museo San Agustin celebrated the inauguration anniversary of the Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus of the Philippines with a talk entitled β€˜Imagenes Indigenas: The Indio Response to Religious Statuary’ delivered by Dr. Esperanza Gatbonton. Thirty-two pieces of Filipino santos from the collection of the late antique collector Antonio Martino were donated to the Museo, finding its permanent home in the San Agustin Hall gallery.
