The UST History Department is a component of the UST General Education Cluster tasked with the supervision, standardization, improvement and coordination of the various general history programs being implemented in the University of Santo Tomas. The Department oversees the implementation of the Bachelor of Arts in History program and all other programs involving the discipline. The Department aims

to promote research among the Faculty as a matter of academic and social advancement and to promote the University as a center of historical research. The Department helps in the evaluation of individuals applying to become members of the history faculty and submits its recommendations to the deans of colleges who may wish to hire them. The Department periodically evaluates the teaching performance of the faculty through classroom observation and feedback from students, colleges and administrative officials of the University.
