On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the millions of lives lost and remember acts of compassion that saved others. President Manuel L. Quezon’s Open Door Policy gave refuge to around 1,300 Jews fleeing persecution, offering safety and hope.

May this remind us of the importance of dignity, empathy, and courage.
