The Tandang Sora Women’s Museum joins the nation in commemorating the “𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐫” or “𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧” as we feature 𝗡𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘇.

Captain Nieves Fernandez, as called by her subordinates during the war, came from Tacloban, she was a teacher turned Huk-commander during World War 2. She led a group of around 110 guerrilla fighters in Leyte.

As we memorialize the fall of Bataan and all the soldiers who fought for our independence during World War 2, we recognize and highlight the role of women in shaping the history of our nation through care and courage.

In observance of Holy Week, the Tandang Sora Women's Museum will be open on 01 April 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN only.

The museum will be closed from 02 April (Maundy Thursday) to 04 April (Black Saturday).

Regular operations will resume on Sunday, 05 April 2026.
