Our workshop participants were hard at work during the Craft Your Character: Cardboard Figure Crafting workshop last May 17 with workshop facilitator, Baste Cacho. Everyone made their own original 3D character figures out of cardboard. It was a treat to hear them talk about the names, personalities, features, and even special abilities of their characters; the variety being a manifestation of each participant’s distinct personality and creative mind. Indeed, it was an afternoon of creativity, originality and imagination!

You can catch the OMOCHA: Japanese Toys Today exhibition until May 31st at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila to see beloved Japanese characters such as Pikachu, Anpanman, Doreamon, Chiikawa, and many more!

We hope you can also join us for our final event on the last day of the exhibition:

Seams of Memory by Winna Go unfolds like a visual diary—where personal and diasporic stories take shape through intricate paintings of traditional Chinese robes. Threads of ancestry, migration, and memory surface in every detail, from flowing, silk-like textures to symbols that hold meaning.

Here, the cheongsam becomes both subject and storyteller. Dragons, flowers, and nature-inspired patterns reveal themselves the closer you look.

On your next visit, take your time—what other symbols can you find?

Winna Go | Seams of Memory is on view at the Groundspace until 30 July 2026.
