The Citizens Archive of Pakistan CAP is a non-profit organisation dedicated to cultural and historic preservation of Pakistan

The Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to cultural and historic preservation, operating in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. We seek to educate the community, foster an awareness of our nation's history and instill pride in Pakistani citizens about their heritage. CAP has focused its attention on the tradition of oral storytelling in Pakistan, emphasizing the im

portance of such narratives in a dialogue on national identity. Our organization has three main goals: to preserve and provide access to the archive, to build and support educational programs, and to develop educational products based on the testimonies collected. We are passionate about sharing Pakistan's stories with the educational outreach programs and the thousands of visitors who attend our festivals, and exhibitions. Our archives, exhibits and galleries change and grow as our understanding grows, and we strive to share our knowledge in original and exciting ways.

For nearly two decades, The Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP) has worked to preserve the stories, memories, and histories that ground us as a nation. Through oral histories, archival records, public exhibitions and educational outreach, CAP has remained committed to ensuring that Pakistan’s cultural heritage is not only protected but made accessible and meaningful for future generations.

Today marks an important new chapter in that journey.

From the National Mall in Washington D.C. to London's Hyde Park, public parks around the world serve as civic anchors, where communities gather not only to rest, but to reflect, remember, and connect with the histories that shape them. Now, Karachi will have one of its own.
