“If you would know strength and patience, welcome the company of trees” (Hal Borland). Despite adversity and windstorms, trees are resilient. There branches are like an open arm which are so welcoming. They give comfort in teams of shelter or joy to everyone without discrimination regardless of race or religion. In Literature trees are sometimes portrayed as the abodes of nature spirits. Early Greeks, Persians and other ancient peoples throughout history used the world tree motif with its roots wrapped around the Earth and its branches in the heavens as a symbol of the potential ascent of humans from the realm of matter to the higher reaches of the spirit or the possibility of mystic access from one plane of being to another.
Tree of life’s motif is very often used in various Art forms to represent unity and connections between heaven and Earth, harmony, the past and present, death and rebirth. Slots and wrinkles in the bark is the main source of inspiration for my work. Trees have some similar physical characteristics like us. These elements help one to determine a tree's age, and how long it has endured hardships and sufferings just like a human being. Wrinkles also reminds me of our elders' faces. I try to explore the stages of external structure completion and formation or the essence, the basis, of a real being that is called the entity of a body.
