I won’t dare to call myself an artist, as the true artists are still reflecting their immortality in their ‘story teller’ canvases through the decades. What I will dare to say instead is that what we do indeed defines who we are as people and as souls; what we see and what we feel. Boundaries can be explored in such way that they can become flexible, adaptable and limitless. If my ‘stories’ don’t fit into the frame, I’m not trying to cut nor shorten them. Who likes an unfinished story? I prefer to continue it, outside, grow it and give it another level of meaning.
Expressing ourselves in an artistic way may open doors we couldn't reach before and can push us to experience new thoughts and emotions and discover new shades of our personality. When we surround ourselves with beautiful objects, fine fabrics, expressive paintings, we’re actually looking for something inside our souls to liberate. We feel that there is so much more somewhere, out there and we’re continuously and restlessly looking for it, looking to find and get complete with that missing piece, that mystery, that breeze of unknown that gives the exact shade of spice we need...
What I am looking to see in a painting? I spend days looking at my paintings after I believe I have finished them. But a painting is never complete. All paintings are puzzles waiting to be solved. They have a story that waits in the dark, quietly to get a meaning until it is discovered and you become one with your creation, with your acquisition and its part of you. What are you looking to see in a painting?
