🎪 No próximo dia 13 de setembro, a Ocupart apresenta O Circo do Senhor Clyde Beatty de Pedro Zamith, com textos de Hugo Barreiros, na Galeria Sá da Costa, em Lisboa.
Inspirado na figura do domador americano Clyde Beatty (1903–1965), Zamith, com a ironia que lhe é característica, mergulha no universo decadente e fascinante do circo clássico, revelando o seu lado sombrio, grotesco e profundamente humano. Pintura, desenho sobre tela dão vida a personagens ambíguas, marcadas por uma teatralidade melancólica. Os textos de Hugo Barreiros ampliam este universo visual, acrescentando camadas de sentido e humor às figuras representadas.
🎪 On September 13, Ocupart presents The Circus of Mr. Clyde Beatty by Pedro Zamith, with texts by Hugo Barreiros, at Galeria Sá da Costa in Lisbon.
Inspired by the historical figure of American lion tamer Clyde Beatty (1903–1965), Zamith dives into the decadent and fascinating world of the classic circus, revealing its dark, grotesque, and deeply human side — with his signature irony. Painting and drawing on canvas bring to life ambiguous characters, marked by melancholic theatricality. Hugo Barreiros’s texts expand this visual universe, adding layers of meaning and humor to the portrayed figures.
