Daniel Mattar trabalha a tinta como objeto, comprimindo, dobrando e reconfigurando sua superfície. A macrofotografia revela tensões entre cor, volume e luz, onde o plano se torna corpo.

Forma e cor deixam de representar para existir.

Daniel Mattar treats paint as object, compressing, folding and reconfiguring its surface. Through macro photography, tensions between color, volume and light emerge, where the image becomes body.

Form and color no longer represent, they exist.

Neste trabalho, Daniel Mattar toma um mapa celeste impresso como matriz. Sobre essa trama gráfica ele deposita óleo espesso em gotas e filamentos, deslocando a leitura do desenho para o campo da matéria. A macrofotografia amplia a superfície a ponto de a tinta se adiantar ao suporte, enfatizando o relevo e a densidade da cor. Entre imagem apropriada e gesto pictórico, o trabalho tensiona os limites entre fotografia, pintura e escultura.

100 x 133 cm

In this work, Daniel Mattar uses a printed star map as his matrix. On this graphic grid he lays down thick oil paint in drops and filaments, shifting the reading from drawing to matter. Macro photography enlarges the surface to the point where the paint steps forward from the support, emphasizing the relief and density of color. Between appropriated image and pictorial gesture, the piece pushes the boundaries between photography, painting and sculpture.
