Explore " 令和浮世絵　異国乃赤絨毯 Reiwa Ukiyo-e: Foreign Red Carpet ", the masterful piece nominated for this special honor. This work is a contemporary piece that reinterprets the iconic red carpet of Cannes alongside its seaside landscape through the visual language of Japanese Ukiyo-e. At the center of the composition stands the staircase and red carpet—symbols of the Cannes
Film Festival venue. By incorporating elements of mountains and sea, the piece also reflects the natural beauty of the land and its harmony with human culture. The color palette draws from the French flag, featuring blue, white, and red, which are echoed in the kimonos worn by the figures. Subtly embedded within these garments is the kanji “絨毯” (carpet), quietly reinforcing the theme.

By layering acrylic paint with textile elements, the piece creates surfaces of light and depth that cannot be achieved with paint alone. The fabrics used in the artwork originate from surplus kimono textiles, transforming traditional materials into a renewed artistic expression.

Explore "Owl & Birds Boruca Spraycan", the masterful piece nominated for this special honor. An artwork inspired by the Boruca tribe of Southern Pacific Costa Rica. The history and traditions of Boruca masks began over 500 years ago, during the Spanish Conquest. ‘Diablito’ masks, or little devil masks, were created and worn with the intent to scare the unwelcome invaders back to Spain. The Borucas believe that the spirit animals of the jungle help them resist the conquistadors, so their elaborate masks are designed to represent those fierce animals and also the local flora and fauna of their country.

Explore " Stegosaurus Woman", the masterful piece nominated for this special honor. The artist’s creative process is guided by curiosity and a constant spirit of experimentation, evolving into an ever-transforming visual language. Her most recent works, with the Coffee Precipitate Technique, emerged in August 2024 when, after drinking traditional Cypriot coffee, she instinctively cast the coffee precipitate onto a canvas. The result was unexpectedly compelling: a dynamic interaction of movement, tonal contrast, and organic earthy-coloured forms. This experimentation led to a new series of works, along with the challenge of preserving such a delicate material. Through patience and continued experimentation, she succeeded in stabilising it, transforming fragility into permanence. Among the most striking works created is Stegosaurus Woman, a tribute to the resilience and inner strength of women.
