PT| A Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny inaugura, no próximo dia 16 de maio, a exposição “Anatomia do Sonho”, dedicada à obra de Teresa Roza d’Oliveira (1945–2019).
Reunindo um conjunto significativo de obras, a exposição propõe uma imersão no universo visual da artista, profundamente marcado pelas experiências vividas entre Moçambique e Portugal. Entre o humano e o animal, o íntimo e o simbólico, Teresa Roza d’Oliveira construiu uma linguagem de forte carga emocional e psicológica, onde a memória, a violência social e política e a fragilidade da condição humana emergem de forma visceral e profundamente poética.
As suas composições revelam uma dimensão onírica inquietante, onde figuras híbridas, gestos expressivos e atmosferas densas coexistem num território visual de grande intensidade narrativa. Convocando estados emocionais e fragmentos de memória individual e coletiva, cria obras que permanecem profundamente atuais pela forma como abordam temas de deslocação, identidade, trauma e resistência.
“Anatomia do Sonho” surge num momento de crescente reconhecimento internacional da obra de Teresa Roza d’Oliveira, na sequência da sua apresentação na secção Spotlight da Frieze Masters, em Londres, em Outubro de 2025. Esta exposição assinala a primeira apresentação individual da artista em solo nacional desde então, e antecede a sua participação na ARCOlisboa, entre 28 e 31 de maio, sendo ambos os projetos assinados pela Perve Galerias - Portugal.
No mesmo dia, a Perve Galeria inaugura a exposição “JAS — Junção, Abstração, Surrealismo”, dedicada a João Artur da Silva. As duas mostras, com curadoria de Carlos Cabral Nunes ficarão patentes até 4 de julho.
ENG| On May 16th, Freedom House – Mário Cesariny will open the exhibition “Anatomia do Sonho” (Anatomy of the Dream), dedicated to the work of Teresa Roza d’Oliveira (1945–2019).
Bringing together a significant body of work, the exhibition offers an immersion into the artist's visual universe, deeply shaped by her experiences between Mozambique and Portugal. Navigating between the human and the animal, the intimate and the symbolic, Teresa Roza d’Oliveira developed a language with a powerful emotional and psychological charge, where memory, social and political violence, and the fragility of the human condition emerge in a visceral and profoundly poetic manner.
Her compositions reveal a haunting, dreamlike dimension where hybrid figures, expressive gestures, and dense atmospheres coexist within a visual territory of great narrative intensity. By summoning emotional states and fragments of both individual and collective memory, she created works that remain deeply relevant in their exploration of displacement, identity, trauma, and resistance.
“Anatomy of the Dream” arrives at a moment of growing international recognition for Teresa Roza d’Oliveira’s work, following her presentation in the Spotlight section of Frieze Masters in London in October 2025. This exhibition marks the artist’s first solo presentation in Portugal since then and precedes her participation in ARCOlisboa, from May 28th to 31st—both projects by Perve Galerias - Portugal
