Desde a sua fundação em 1993, a Galeria Fernando Santos tem desenvolvido o seu trabalho em função de quatro propósitos complementares:
a) Divulgar e apoiar projectos de novos artistas portugueses;
b) Atender a um melhor conhecimento de alguns nomes da arte internacional;
c) Abrir às instituições e a um leque de coleccionadores de obras de prestigio a possibilidade de permanecerem em
contacto próximo com nomes de referência no mercado da arte nacional e internacional. d) Manter em aberto uma linha de exposições capaz de continuar a atender à produção de alguns dos mais significativos artistas portugueses surgidos nas ultimas quatro décadas. Neste sentido, a estratégia da galeria, que alternadamente vai realizando exposições nestas quatro vertentes, tem sido a de organizar e/ou co-organizar grandes exposições dos seus artistas, apresentar a sua obra em museus e espaços institucionais de prestígio, bem como, estar presente em grandes feiras nacionais e internacionais. O esforço continuado de merecer a confiança de coleccionadores e artistas tem tido como consequência a multiplicação de espaços expositivos, bem como o significativo alargamento, quer nacional quer internacional dos artistas que representa. Since its foundation, in 1993, Galeria Fernando Santos has had a fourfold aim:
a) To disseminate and support projects of emerging portuguese artists
b) To a further knowledge of some internacional artists
c) To offer to institutions and to a group of prestigious art collectors, the possibility to remain in close contact with names of reference both in national and in international art market
d) Too keep up with an exhibition line capable of attending the production of some of the most significative portuguese artists of the last four decades. Therefore, the gallery strategy, that alternately keeps on through exhibiting in these four sources, has been to organize and co-organize significant exhibitions of these artists, to present their work in museums and prestigious institutional spaces, as well as, attend the most important national and international art fairs. The continued effort of being trustworthy both by art collectors and artists has, as a consequence, the multiplication of expositive spaces, as well as the significant enlargement, both national and international of the artists that it represents.
