A 4 de julho, abriram-se as portas do Museu da Cortiça, na Fábrica do Inglês, a mais de 200 convidados, numa cerimónia que reuniu autoridades civis, representantes de instituições e parceiros, para assinalar o regresso de um museu fechado há dezasseis anos.
Discursaram Erik de Vlieger, CEO da Carvoeiro Branco e Antrix, o Prof. Dr. Jorge Custódio, historiador responsável pelo projeto museológico original, e a Presidente da Câmara Municipal de Silves, Luísa Conduto Luís. A noite contou ainda com animação teatral no interior do museu e um trio de jazz ao vivo.
Este foi apenas o primeiro momento de um regresso muito aguardado: no dia 11 de julho terá lugar um Dia Aberto no Museu da Cortiça. Entrada livre, mediante inscrição prévia em museudacorticasilves.pt.

On 4 July, the doors of the Cork Museum, at Fábrica do Inglês, opened to more than 200 guests — a ceremony bringing together civic authorities, institutional representatives and partners, to mark the return of a museum closed for sixteen years.
Speakers included Erik de Vlieger, CEO of Carvoeiro Branco and Antrix, Prof. Dr. Jorge Custódio, the historian behind the original museological project, and the President of the Municipality of Silves, Luísa Conduto Luís. The evening also featured theatrical performances inside the museum and a live jazz trio.
This was just the first moment of a long-awaited return: on 11 July, an Open Day will take place at the Cork Museum. Free entry, with prior registration at museudacorticasilves.pt.
