Avril and Helen have come together to highlight the beauty of the amazing planet we share with the flora and fauna that inhabit the earth. Using canvas, brush and the colours of the rainbow we endeavour to bring the beauty of nature into your home. Both artists have very different techniques but both have the same goal, they would like the viewer to be immersed in the painting and find the joy that the artists experienced whilst creating the beautiful images.

As many may know I love drawing and painting but I also enjoy the art of decorating eggs .
The geese have been laying and the kistka is hot and the dyes are ready.
The Pysanky eggs will be at Quinta shopping Easter market, Sunday 5th April 10am to 1pm.
It should be a great Easter market , hopefully see you there.

I have just set down my brush, the final stroke still echoing with everything I feel. This painting, Custos Vitae—Guardian of Life—is more than an image; it is a tribute, a reverence, a quiet expression of gratitude that words alone could never fully hold.
For over thirteen years, this remarkable soul has been part of our lives. In moments when the world felt unbearably heavy, when darkness closed in, his hands—steady, skilled, almost miraculous—brought light back to us. Through his gift, he has not only healed bodies, but restored hope, dignity, and life itself.
This piece carries the weight of those journeys, of fear transformed into relief, of despair softened by compassion. It is my attempt to capture not just the likeness of a surgeon, but the essence of what he truly is—a guardian, a healer, a force that stands between fragility and survival.
I hope, when you look at it, you don’t just see a figure. I hope you feel him.

After a weekend that felt impossibly heavy, saying goodbye to our beloved little Coco, we were carried—gently, generously—by the kindness of friends. They showed up with open hearts, thoughtful gestures, and the kind of presence that softens even the sharpest grief.

And then, a quiet, unexpected light: when I went to collect my paintings from the Cultural República 14 exhibition in Olhao, I discovered that my Hydrangeas had found a home. Someone connected with them, loved them enough to take them into their life.

In the midst of loss, that moment felt like a small, beautiful reminder—of connection, of creation, and of how love, in its many forms, continues to find its way back to us.

I’ve just brought my *Warrior* home from the framers, and the moment I tore away the wrapping, something in me ignited. I stood there, completely captivated—my creation staring back at me with a life of its own, as if it had been waiting to be seen like this. And the frame… it doesn’t simply hold it, it sets it ablaze, intensifying every line, every emotion, until the whole piece feels charged, alive, almost impossible to look away from. I didn’t just create it—I feel it.

It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to the opening of the exhibition – Open Art Exhibition, taking place on February 13th, between 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM, at República 14, in Olhão.
This exhibition brings together 86 artists from different nationalities, ages, and cultural and artistic backgrounds, reflecting the diversity, creative richness, and spirit of sharing that define our community. More than an exhibition, this moment celebrates art as a space for encounter, dialogue, and collective expression.
Your presence at the opening will be very special to us and to everyone who visits the exhibition. It will also be an opportunity for artists, audience, and community to gather and mark the beginning of this show together.
