عندما بدأت سارة العبدلي العمل على معرض "مَهدُ الأسطُورَة"، أدركت أن هذا المعرض لا يكتمل دون حي البلد، وأن حي البلد لا يروى إلا بصوت يليق به.
تعرفوا على عبير أبو سليمان — أكاديمية، وناشطة في مجال التراث، وأول مرشدة سياحية سعودية في المنطقة التاريخية بجدة.
منذ عام 2011، كرّست عبير نفسها للحفاظ على الذاكرة الحية لحي البلد ونقلها ومشاركتها، حيث شاركت في تأسيس مجموعة "قلب جدة"، وأسهمت في إعداد ملف مدينة جدة التاريخية ضمن قائمة اليونسكو للتراث العالمي، كما حصلت على ترخيص رسمي كمرشدة سياحية متعددة اللغات باللغات العربية والإنجليزية والفرنسية. وفي عام 2024، منحت وسام "الفنون والآداب" من الجمهورية الفرنسية تقديراً لإسهاماتها الثقافية، بما يعكس حضورها العميق في المشهد الثقافي وقدرتها على إحياء الذاكرة التاريخية بأسلوب حي وقريب.
بالنسبة لسارة، لم يكن اختيار عبير مجرد تعاون، بل إدراك بأن بعض الحكايات لا تروى إلا بأصوات من كرسوا حياتهم لصونها.

When Sara Al Abdali set out to bring The Legends of Motherland to life, she knew the exhibition could not exist without Al Balad — and Al Balad could not be told without the right voice.
Meet Abir Abusulayman — educator, heritage advocate, and the first Saudi female tour guide in Jeddah's historical area. Since 2011, Abir has dedicated herself to preserving and sharing the living memory of Al Balad, co-founding the Jeddah's Heart group, contributing to UNESCO's heritage file for Historic Jeddah, and becoming a licensed multilingual guide in Arabic, English, and French. Decorated in 2024 with France's Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for her cultural contributions, Abir brings a depth of knowledge and a rare ability to make history feel intimate and alive.
For Sara, choosing Abir wasn't just a collaboration — it was a recognition that some stories need the voices of those who have spent a lifetime protecting them.
