Yesterday my daughter gave me this chestnut she found and said ”it’s for you mommy, can you make a painting out of this?”

I’m amazed by her way of seeing beauty in everyday life ✨ and of course I had to try when she asked so nicely 🥰

May I present to you “The Chestnut” 🌰

New 🐌🦋🍄‍🟫

I’ve been working on this painting for a while now 🎨 aquarelle on paper (A2) 42x59cm

It turned out to be a long process 😅 it’s a big painting and I recently started physical therapy for Cubital Tunnel Syndrome (compression of the ulnar nerve in the cubital tunnel (in the elbow and writs) so I had to paint most of this piece with my left hand, this was a bigger challenge than I expected given the fact in right handed 😆✌🏼

”Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” 😎

I call this piece “stubbornness” 😉

Aquarelle and gouache on A3 paper. This painting was a Christmas gift for my mother in law and her husband. The two colors are meant to represent their personalities and preferences. I intentionally painted them in a yin and yang formation to represent the harmonies within a marriage 🥳

Enjoy!
