Eidos snurrmästare connects Plato’s allegory to the conditions of contemporary life. Today, our perception of the world is increasingly mediated through screens, social media, and algorithmic systems that filter, organise, and shape the information we encounter. Facts, opinions, and disinformation circulate alongside one another, often obscuring the distinction between them. At the same time, it can be difficult to discern who is speaking, from what position, and whose interests determine what becomes visible.
By bringing Plato’s world of ideas into dialogue with today’s digital reality, the work explores questions of perception, power, influence, and responsibility.
What is it that we actually see in our everyday lives? What forces shape the images and narratives presented to us? And what remains concealed behind the flickering shadows?
