C11 or C14? Again…

This is a bit more nerdy than I really have the intension of being on this page, but as I raised the question in my previous post, I feel I am obliged to follow it up.

A usually reliable source reports that the Chartapola at Rétromobile is "C14 #27231".

Courteault listed 27231 as a "C11" in 1991; it was called a "C11" when it was in Janssens collection in the 2010s; the same when Grohe had it for sale in 2022–2023, as confirmed by the id plate. Moch called the exhibited car "C11" as late as January this year.

But it is exhibited as a "C14".

According to another, equally reliable source, the running gear has been updated to C14 specifications.

This may make it virtually like a C14, bit in my view it is still a "C11 — with C14 running gear".

Please, correct me if any of this information is wrong.

(And I am sorry, if this is only interesting to me.)

In addition to the Voisin C30 streamliner offered at auction (see previous post) there are at least two Voisin exhibited at this year's Rétromobile in Paris, that opened yesterday. Both are displayed by Yacco & Philipp Moch.

One is a 1929 C11* Chartapola.
Is this, as I suspect, chassis number #27231 that has been restored?

The other one is, more sensationally, a 1930 C22 (chassis code name Sciroco)!
I know very little about it (yet), but I assume it is a replica. It would be really interesting to know what it is based on. And what engine it has. The 5.8 liter 6 cylinder engine was only available in C16 and C22. I only know of one surviving C16 — and one C16 engine. But then, I don’t know everything… Please, tell me if you know more!

The interesting, streamline bodied Voisin C30 #60032 is about to go to a new custodian for the first time in over 60 years.

Hi, all! I have been absent for health resons, but I think this is interesting enough for me to briefly resurface. (Even though you may very well already be aware of it.)

The Saliot bodied C18 coupé, chassis 40033, that was sold at an auction in 2017 for 900 000 €, has reappeared as a "Myrte" replica.
The restoration was executed by Hispano-Suiza and Classic Club, in Liberec, Czechia.

It was seen this weekend at the Automobilové klenoty concours d’elegance outside Prague.

The stand of Les Amis de Gabriel Voisin at last weekend’s Prewar Days expo in Belgium, with the rather odd looking C11 chassis 25399 (that I also posted about a week ago). It was lent for the occasion by Bruno Vendiesse.
As always: Correct me if I am wrong! Regretfully, I was unable to be there.

The auction for the C1 Limousine by Besset, chassis 559, is now closed.
The hammer fell at 61,250 €, which would make 70,517 € including auction fees.
However, it is not clear if this means a sale. In fact, the site state that "after the auction the [consigner] determines whether or not the lot will go to the highest bidder."
Your guess is as good as mine…

This is quite confusing. Even though the auctioneer confirmed to me by e-mail that the Voisin C1 Limousine by Besset, chassis 559, had been withdrawn from the auction, it is now back online.

During its withdrawal it was gone from the auction’s index page and it did not turn up in search results. Now it is back again. Its own page, where the actual bidding takes place (link below,) has been live the whole time.

From Prewar Days in Kortrijk, Belgium this morning:
The rather odd looking Voisin C11 Chartre, chassis 25399; possibly something put together by Voisin dealer Saliot. It was in the 1970s owned by Marc Nicolosi, of Avallon, France. Last I know (2023) it was with Auto Veteran Company, of Prague, Czechia.
I expect they still have it (I know they are present at the expo,) but is any of you visiting and can verify who is exhibiting it now?
