Meet the artists:
Rickard Grönkvist (SE) works across photography, illustration and graphic design. Using strong flash, he amplifies the colours and graphic qualities of his subjects, transforming seemingly banal everyday scenes into images charged with new meanings, moods and associations.

Johan Rönnow (SE) works across social documentary photography, portraits of musicians and advertising. A love of music, dogs and general oddities runs through his practice, connecting otherwise very different subjects and photographic settings.

And don’t let the WRRC race keep you away! The gallery is easy to reach from Trianglen metro station, or you can hop on your bike and take the route along the lakes.

The Diamonds & Ink exhibition is coming to an end this week. On Saturday Simon Simon Martner will join us to talk about the exhibition, his photographic process/journey in general and how to self-publish your own books and get them into some of the coolest bookstores in the world.

We are so excited about this! Next week we are joining forces with Dark Gallery CPH for this year’s Golden Days Festival (Golden Days )

We’re putting on THE DAY IS A MONSTER - a group exhibition of epic proportions (in a relatively small space) with some of our favorite people/photographers. The title is from a blog entry (last slide) by American author Adam Gnade (ADAM GNADE ) posted on the day Israel began launching airstrikes on the Gaza Strip in October 2023.

At its core, The Day Is A Monster is not about fear, but about persistence. About the stubborn act of making images when language fails, when certainty collapses, when the world feels unrecognisable from yesterday.

As always, kran operates under its guiding principle: no rules. The photographers have approached the theme without restriction, allowing instinct, emotion, and urgency to shape their work. The result is a collection that resists a single narrative. Instead, it offers a multiplicity of voices, each grappling, in their own way, with what it means to exist in a clusterfu£k of a world.

No rest for the wicked. The floor is still sticky from yesterday’s finissage, but on Friday we open another awesome exhibition! DIAMONDS & INK by Simon Martner will be running until 19th September. Expect punks, tattoos, Nepalese skate kids alongside macro jewellery photography. Because, why not?!

Join us for wine, beer and snacks from 18:00-20:00! Bring your friends and your parents. Kran is for everyone.

Tomorrow is the day and we’re really looking forward to sharing our latest issue with you.

En del av Sverige - Finissage and artist talk

All things must come to an end and to celebrate, the kind people at Kran are setting up a closing event and an artist talk with yours truly.

This exhibition is a part of an ongoing project that keeps evolving and things are brewing. So I guess it’s not an end but a pause.

So until next time,

Apologies for the radio silence. The open call for kran 6 closed over a week ago and to be honest, we’ve been a bit stunned by the response.

Almost 150 photographers have sent in photos, which is more than our other open calls combined. We’re now going through all the submissions and you can expect to hear back from us in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you all so much for wanting to be part of our little project.
