Anna Camner | 'Intra-action'⁠

Anna Camner creates paintings that hover between the tangible and the intangible, blending precise realism with an enigmatic sense of mystery. Working in oil on acrylic panels, she has developed a highly controlled and time-intensive practice focused on surface and materiality. Employing a wet-on-wet technique, Camner completes each small section of a painting in a single sitting, leaning into the medium's natural fluidity and unpredictability. This spontaneous approach yields soft luminosities and subtle transitions, imbuing her works with a distinctive, breathing quality.⁠

Bigert & Bergströms new solo exhibition 'Broken Greenhouse' opens today Saturday 29 August at Accelerator. The show runs until 18 October.⁠

Artist Duo Bigert & Bergström present a series of five sculptural greenhouses that relate to the UN's climate scenarios for the year 2100. Each greenhouse represents one of these specific future scenarios – from a more sustainable and circular development path to more resource-intensive and climate-damaging societal models. ⁠

Mats Bigert, born in 1965, and Lars Bergström, born in 1962, have collaborated since 1986. They studied at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm from 1986 to 1990. The duo has carried out numerous exhibitions and public projects, both in Sweden and internationally. Recent solo projects include Broken Greenhouse – Embodied Climate Futures, Lund Botanical Garden (2025); Tipping Point, Djurgården, Stockholm (2022); Hurricane Party, Norrtälje Art Hall (2022); and CO₂ Lock-In, Stockholm School of Economics (2020). Broken Greenhouse will be presented at Bergianska Trädgården outside Stockholm in collaboration with Accelerator in autumn 2026.⁠

In 2025, Bigert & Bergström received the Art for the Globe Award, one of Sweden’s most prestigious cultural prizes.⁠

Bigert & Bergström are represented in the collections of Moderna Museet, Malmö Konstmuseum, Eskilstuna Konstmuseum.⁠

Working mainly with gouache on paper, Norås creates meticulous abstract paintings drawing inspiration from nature, sacred places and spirituality. In his paintings, micro and macro worlds appear full of movement and life – like a cross-section of humus or moss in a primaeval forest. Norås’s works are deeply connected to our experience and idea of nature – capturing something elemental and perhaps lost in our contemporary lives. In the studio, engrossed in a time-consuming practice, Norås bring forth a playful and meditative flow imbued with existential questions. Self-perceived experiences and nature's constant metamorphoses infuse Norås practice, capturing inner and outer landscapes in his work.⁠

Olle Norås (b. 1982 in Gagnef) is based in Stockholm. He has studied at the Royal Institute of Art (2013-2015) and holds a BFA in ironwork from HDK Steneby, Academy of Design and Crafts, the University of Gothenburg (2011). ⁠

Selected exhibitions include Avesta Art 2022, Avesta, Emerging, 2021, Galerie Anhava, Helsinki, Bland dessa uråldriga spiror, 2021, Eva Livijn, Stockholm and Träden står ljust gröna – Landskapsmåleri då och nu, 2020, Bonniers Konsthall, Stockholm. Norås was awarded one of the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation Grants in 2017. ⁠

Fredrik Söderberg | 'The Alchemical Wedding'⁠

Continuing his long-standing interest in symbols and the ways they evolve across time and cultures, Söderberg brings together references from esoteric traditions, myths, and art history in a new body of work where painting itself mirrors the alchemical process. Inspired by the seventeenth-century book ‘The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz’, the new exhibition takes its title from a story in which transformation, change, and the meeting of opposites form the central themes.⁠

In 'The Alchemical Wedding', familiar motifs from the artist's earlier work return in new forms, shaped by recent experiences and an expanded interest in spiritual and visual traditions. Geometric structures, mandalas, celestial bodies, and portraits appear throughout the exhibition, drawing on symbolism from different periods of history alongside ideas from spirituality, religion, and popular culture.⁠

Anna Camner | 'Intra-action'⁠

The paintings in Anna Camner's new exhibition 'Intra-action' seem to start from an almost documentary act of observation without, however, ever resolving into clear identification. Her almost monochrome compositions oscillate between exposure and concealment, appearing as bodily or inanimate, natural or manufactured, real or imagined. Often reminiscent of laboratory samples, dreamscapes, microscopic specimens, or far-off vistas, her luminous, introspective paintings examine how matter changes state and how familiar textures can become strange. In this sense, references to Baroque still lifes or the meticulously rendered details in the portraits of the Renaissance era are clearly visible.⁠

Working with watercolour, oil, and precious metals, Söderberg builds each painting through a meticulous process in which craftsmanship is inseparable from concept. The materials themselves—gold, silver, palladium, lead, ruby, jade, amethyst, onyx, lapis lazuli, ivory, and cinnabar—carry histories and symbolic associations of their own before being transformed into images that acquire new meanings. In this way, the paintings echo the alchemical process referenced in the exhibition's title, where physical materials and visual ideas meet and evolve through the act of painting.⁠

Bringing together historical references, symbolism, material experimentation, and a meticulous painting practice, The Alchemical Wedding continues Söderberg's exploration of art as both a physical and conceptual transformation.⁠
