Since June 6, our temporary exhibition The Box has welcomed a large number of visitors from near and far.

Over the past week, the parking lot has been particularly impressive, with an exceptional number of beautiful cars arriving as participants in The International Saab Clubs Meeting outside Stockholm also took the opportunity to visit Trollhättan.

Whether you live nearby or are travelling from abroad, a visit to The Box is well worth it. During the period when the Saab Car Museum is housed at Nova Arena, more cars than ever before are on display.

Open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM until September 30.

Welcome to Trollhättan and Saab Car Museum!

MISSING: Customers who purchased retro blankets at our shop in Trollhättan.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had a fantastic number of enthusiastic visitors at Saab Car Museums exhibition The Box, and many of you have also purchased merchandise from our shop. We have recently discovered that some customers who purchased retro blankets for their cars may not have received complete sets.

The blankets produced by Svenska Saabklubben consist of three pieces: one larger blanket for the rear seat and two smaller pieces for the front seats. Each set should therefore contain three pieces, but some customers may have received only one or two pieces.

We are therefore looking for a small number of customers who purchased a set of retro blankets at our shop in Trollhättan over the past few weeks. If you are missing any pieces, please contact the museum by email at [email protected]

You can find more information about the blankets on the Swedish Saab Club’s website:

Today, we warmly congratulate rally legend Stig Blomqvist as he celebrates his 80th birthday. 🎂 🥳 🎉

Born in Örebro in 1946, a driving instructor by profession. He began his career with his father Lennart in the co- driver’s seat and immediately showed great promise in his Saab Sport two-stroke. In the late 1960s, he was signed by Saab as a factory driver and achieved his major international breakthrough during the 1971 season, with victories including the Swedish KAK Rally, the 1000 Lakes Rally in Finland, and the RAC Rally in the United Kingdom, driving his red Saab V4.

Stig remained loyal to Saab until 1981, when the competition department was shut down. His career then continued with teams such as Talbot and Audi, with its new Quattro. Stig crowned his career by becoming World Rally Champion in 1984 in an Audi Quattro A2.

He became known for his smooth, precise driving style, where Stig behind the wheel lets the car do the work, and where the controlled slide from the previous corner is positioned perfectly for the entry into the next one. No unnecessary wrestling or forcing here. A true master of chassis setup and optimization, he is today highly sought after as a consultant in this field. There is a reason Stig is called “The Master” – or “The Stig.”

Happy Birthday Stig Lennart Blomqvist 🇸🇪!

In the summer of 1966, Saab started mounting the new V4-engine in the 96 and 95, instead of the old two-stroke engine. The four-stroke engine extended the model's lifespan, and it wasn't long before the people simply called it the Saab V4.

It the new issue of Saab Classic Cars, you can read an enjoyable article about a roadtrip in a Saab 96 V4 from 1977. It's a pleasant drive through the region Småland, accompanied by freewheeling, the engine's gentle hum, and the razor-sharp precision of the column shifter.

It's now possible to order the magazine in two versions, English and Swedish. If this test turns out well, there will be more English editions in the future – but it all comes down to you. Order your copy now at Saab Car Museums webshop!
