For lovers of ochre works, this first solo curatorial project by Kieara Quintal at the AGNSW is a monumental look into the works of Freddie and Timmy Timms.

On show is a monumental 6-piece work called “Blackfella Creek”. Widely regarded as his magnum opus of Timms works and not seen in public since 2003.

The show, which focuses heavily on frontier violence across their Country, is to be shown alongside Sidney Nolan’s, Nolan: Origins – a look at the legend of Major, an aboriginal bushranger who sought retribution for the killings of Gija people during the frontier wars.

⭐REDOT FINE ART GALLERY SPOLIGHT | Barbara MBITJANA MOORE⭐ - https://mailchi.mp/redotgallery/spotlight-barbara-moore

This expansive and luminous painting by Barbara evokes the spirit of ancestral Anmatyerre Country near Ti-Tree.

Painted in 2013, at the height of her artistic maturity and from a period widely regarded as her most complete and resolved, Ngayuku Ngura – My Country stands as a significant and highly collectible statement of connection to Country.

Ömie Artists currently have works on exhibition in, ‘RISING VOICES: Contemporary Art from Asia, Australia and the Pacific’ at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, UK. Running until 10 January, 2027: Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Ömie artists, Sarah Ugiobari, Lila Warrimou (Misaso) and Pennyrose Sosa, are exhibiting in the Introduction/initial works section of the exhibition.

The works, which have been generously lent by QAGOMA, (Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art) are some of the most beautiful examples of the Mount Lamington, Oro Province artists, that make up this extremely remote tribal group

Curatorial Manager, Tarun Nagesh, of the Asian and Pacific Art section at QAGOMA, says of these works

“Ancestral knowledge, customary practices and long-standing connections to place and community remain deeply relevant to artists’ practices today. These initial works in ‘Rising Voices: Contemporary art from Asia, Australia and the Pacific’ reveal how cultural knowledge continues to evolve, adapt and reflect on past histories, expressed through rich materials and unique symbolic devices.” -

You can now explore the works currently on display drawn from the permanent collection of QAGOMA (Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art) in Meanjin/Brisbane), Australia.

Warakurna Art Centre is vital as a 100% Indigenous-owned hub that preserves Ngaanyatjarra culture and Tjukurrpa through art, supports local artists economically, fosters community wellbeing, and shares authentic Western Desert stories with the world.

Nancy Nyanyarna Jackson is a senior Ngaanyatjarra artist from Warakurna, who paints her Country’s sandhills and Tjukurrpa, preserving culture through ambitious, large-scale works.

AND HERE we highlight a recent completed masterpiece.

IT’S A WRAP

Thank you to everyone that attended the exhibitions, dropped us notes of congratulations or kind comments. We appreciate it very much indeed.

It has been a rewarding experience, enriched by meeting so many colourful people and new collectors in NY.

So, now all that is left to do is send the amazing works of Kaṉparkanya - The Wanampi (A solo exhibition by Timo Hogan) and Paltjuliri (A solo exhibition by Kunmanara Patju Presley) to their new permanent homes.

For those that missed it, but would like to know more, drop us a DM and we will share more on these two rather important and beautiful exhibitions, images of events and openings and 3D visuals of the exhibition space.

Till next time, over and out from us.

⭐REDOT FINE ART GALLERY SPOLIGHT | Kunmanara Patju PRESLEY⭐ - https://mailchi.mp/redotgallery/spotlight-patju-presley

Kunmanara Patju Presley (1945–2025) was a senior Pitjantjatjara lawman whose work offers a rare, rhythmic window into the Spinifex Country. His signature fields of vibrant dots transcend simple aesthetics, acting as "mesmerising assurance" of ancient Tjukurpa (creation stories).

This month's SPOTLIGHT brings you a rare opportunity to own a work by this important deceased artist.
