Ariffin's ArtZ & DIO-RaMa

Ariffin's ArtZ & DIO-RaMa It started way back when I was very young. Now grown to be a passion. They may be small in size, but it often makes a big impression. Your design, your world.

All my dioramas were handmade using foam, paper, plastic, metal, cardboard, anything that I find useful in my house! Have a specific project or diorama in mind? Something that you always wanted for your own. I am currently opened to make or commissioned one just for you. I can even built a base for your action figures as requested. Just name it!

Pohatchee Drive-In Theatre in display casing! The building was a fictional, Native-American theme and a 1950s-era theatre featured in Back to the Future Part III. The scene was chosen by Dr.Emmett Brown as the location to send Marty Mcfly back to 1885 as there were no trees in both times at that location.
Open for commission. PM me if keen! Open for sale too if anyone interested. πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Adding in the signboards: Pohatchee-Snackbar & Braves. For the Pohatchee one, I cut out the letters slowly instead of the easy way to just print them out. πŸ˜…πŸ˜… I take this challenge anyway. πŸ˜†

Burn the midnight oil just to make these canvas, I think that’s what they are called. I had to paste layers of masking tapes, then removed them and reused some of them in order to line up the paints properly. Some doesn’t appeared straight, but managed to retouch them. You have to focus and pay attention as much to the details. Take the time and rely on patience. At the same time, it helps to ease the mind as it become a therapy and you started to enjoy it.

Added in the native arrows which appeared to be pierce through the building, including an added structure on the roof. I quite enjoyed the process here. I was actually watching clips of the movie in Youtube while progressing on the project. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ At the same time, helps to ease the mind. It’s near to completion. Looking forward for the final results!

Finally can continue with my progress. Had to put on hold cuz of Raya. πŸ˜†
The whole day been making and painting the roof. I use polystyrene materials from Evergreen Scale Models to make those stacks of rows from underneath the roof. I wanna make it as close to the actual building seen in the movie. So far I’m quite happy with the outcome. Really worth making this!

The movie posters are easy to find. It’s only the signage and the menu. πŸ˜† I search all across the internet to see if I can find such. In the end I had no choice but to do it myself. It takes a lot of patience and effort for this. But I learned. I even had to find similar pictures in the internet just to get it as close as possible to what is seen in the movie for the menu part. Finally! Happy with the results. πŸ€—

Building the Pohatchee Drive-In Theatre. πŸ˜€
Scene came from Back to the Future - Part 3. The place was chosen by Dr. Emmett Brown as the location to send Marty Mcfly back to 1885. I simple used foam and coloured paper. I had to keep reviewing that part of the scene in order to get familiarise with the building just to get it as close to making it as possible.

River Road Tunnel: Scene from Back to the Future Part 2 completed! This is taken outside the tunnel. Both with the lights on and off. In reality, the place is known as Mt. Hollywood Tunnel. All done and happy with it. Worth the time and patience! I am open for commission for this project. PM me if keen. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

After much consideration, I decided to add the lights after all. One is at the entrance of the tunnel and one is the lamppost. Adding lights creates the beauty of your diorama. I’m happy with how mine turn out. After all the struggle of installing the lights (I should have install it first before making the hills, but I did not think of the lights previously), it turned out to be worth it after all.
