AC43 Gallery AC43 Gallery is a dedicated space for young and emerging art practitioners in Singapore.

Helmed by the same team from artcommune gallery, AC43 Gallery is committed to the sustainable growth of of the Singapore art ecosystem and aim to be a platform that supports local artists and nurtures art literacy amongst the general public. We also strive to be a platform that encourages meaningful connections and important conversations amongst local artists of different generations. We believe that the cultivation of intergenerational ties fosters support and unity within the Singapore art community, and is vital to the development of our arts and cultural landscape.

Special Choice Picks | Boo Sze Yang

Alongside his ongoing ‘The Floating World’ series, Boo Sze Yang introduces the ‘Afterimages’ series, a collection of intimately scaled paintings measuring 30 × 30 cm.

Fragments of architectural forms, layered gestures, and shifting transparencies evoke the lingering impressions of fleeting memories and emotions. Like images suspended between presence and disappearance, they suggest how our experiences of the visible world continue to resonate long after the moment has passed.

Special Choice Picks | Boo Sze Yang

In ‘The Floating World’ series, the city dissolves into fluid reflections, its edges blurred like mountains suspended in mist. Angular lines and scraped passages suggestive of scaffolding and architectural remnants cut across the surface, introducing a constructed rhythm against the drifting field of paint.

Drawing on the spirit of Chinese shanshui (山水) painting, the work engages the balance between form and emptiness, solidity and dissolution. Built structure and fleeting reflection are not opposites but interdependent forces, continuously shaping one another.

Special Choice Picks | Boo Sze Yang

AC43 Gallery is delighted to announce the presentation of Singapore artist Boo Sze Yang’s latest works at ART TAIPEI 2026. Fresh from the artist’s studio, these newly completed paintings will make their public debut at artcommune gallery’s Booth B11, at the Taipei World Trade Center, from 30 October to 2 November 2026.

In these latest works, Boo Sze Yang continues his long-standing reflections on the fleeting nature and disjointedness of contemporary living, and the fragile allure of modern aspirations. He employs broad, scraped passages of paint and intersecting linear gestures to construct a richly textured composition where architectural traces emerge and dissolve within luminous fields of colour.

What if we looked at the legacy of Singapore art through an entirely new lens? 🔎

While Singaporean art history is deeply rooted in pioneering spirit and regional landscape traditions, artist Ng Wai Choy's practice takes a different path, shifting away from collective cultural narratives and moving toward inward, universal questions of life.

His works offer a profound alternative approach to Nanyang art, guiding us away from the external world and inviting us into a space of individual spiritual introspection.
