Bringing Peranakan heritage closer to home!

We’re thrilled to have partnered with ComfortDelGro to dress 10 special buses in colorful Peranakan-inspired designs.
These buses play an important role in the community, bringing wheelchair users from their homes to day care centres and safely back again.

We thought — why not make their everyday journey a little more colourful?
With Peranakan tiles, motifs and shophouses, these buses are now moving celebrations of our heritage around Singapore.

At The Intan, we believe heritage shouldn’t only live inside a museum. It should be part of our everyday lives — and what better way than to bring it onto the streets?

Artists Across Southeast Asia Revisit Shared Heritage Through Contemporary Performance

Scholars and cultural practitioners, including Baba Alvin Mark Yapp, Baba Richard Tan, T. Sasitharan, Dr Juliana Lim and Prof. Caren Carino, explored the history and evolution of Peranakan communities, performance traditions and contemporary artistic practice, giving participants a deeper understanding of how living heritage continues to evolve across cultural contexts.
