June brings 3 new exhibitions and a special programme at Objectifs:

🎥 The White Faces | 6 June: In 1998, Elysa Wendi performed a solo dance. No archive remains. A live re-enactment and three films circle that absence — not to recover what was lost, but to ask what the body holds when documentation fails.

📦 A Voyage of Box Boy | Opening 4 June: Malaysian artist C.K. Koh traces a quiet journey through photographs, film, and objects. Follow along and leave a message for someone you miss.

🎶 The Art of Chamber Music | Opening 11 June: Chamber Music and Arts Singapore marks their 5th anniversary with a photography exhibition, a feature documentary, and live concerts and open rehearsals as part of a Chamber Music Residency. Photographers Clarence Aw and Brandon Koh illuminate the world of music-making, alongside the premiere of a cinematic documentary, song without words, by Tan Si En and Momo Film Co.

💌 Postcards From My Darling Love | Opening 18 June: Ripple Root, the artist duo of Liquan Liew and Estella Ng, presents their twelfth solo show as a love letter to Singapore, repainting scenes from a 1965 film with a fresh twist on colour and a familiar ache.

Meet the mentors for the Objectifs x Momo Film Co Short Film Incubator 2026.

Our mentors are looking for the spark that makes a film worth encountering — stories that demand to be told, and reveal something only you can say about the world we live in.

Running from 1 September to 31 October 2026, the incubator programme supports five selected Southeast Asian filmmakers as they develop their short film scripts, providing mentorship and a valuable support network.

Deadline for applications is 28 June 2026, 2359H SGT. Apply now at www.objectifs.com.sg/incubator-2026-open-call.

Thinking of applying to the Curator Open Call 2026? Here are some pro tips to help you put your best proposal forward 👇

Curating isn’t just about what’s in the gallery. It’s about the questions you ask, the conversations you start, and the audiences you bring in. If you’re a Singapore-based curator with a proposal worth sharing, this is your chance to realise it with the support of a $1,000 honorarium, up to $8,000 in production budget, mentorship from Dr Adele Tan, and hands-on guidance from the Objectifs team. Your exhibition will open at the Chapel Gallery during Singapore Art Week 2027.

Apply before 16 June 2026. Learn more: www.objectifs.com.sg/curator-open-call-2026

We asked our Docu Award recipients what books from our store inspired them, and every pick told us something about how they see the world — from rediscovering childhood memories to understanding the socio-political histories that shape their practice.

Find their picks in the Objectifs store, as you come by to catch the 8th Documentary Award exhibitions before they close this Saturday, 30 May.

Every great film starts with a blank page — and it’s the scriptwriter who brings it to life.

These tips come from Lillian Wang, a filmmaker and screenwriter with over 25 years of screen experience. Put them to practical use in her upcoming Scriptwriting Workshop, where you’ll craft your own short film story guided by Lillian. Expect writing exercises, online critiques, and discussions across 6 sessions until you walk away with a completed first draft for a short film.

Last chance to catch the 8th Objectifs Documentary Award exhibitions before they close this Saturday, 30 May! Across our galleries and courtyard, four compelling bodies of work await:

💈 The hair between us by Ponita Keo (Cambodia), the Open Category recipient, traces the intimate and cultural significance of hair across generations of Cambodian women

📸 Sa ngalan ng payapang pampang (In honor of tranquil shores) by Victoria Perote (The Philippines) and Hijab/I by Husna — both Emerging Category recipients — round out the showcase with deeply personal documentary works exploring memory, identity, and quiet resistance

🌳 Mpu Uteun: The Leaves Remember Her Name by Yoppy Pieter (Indonesia), presented as part of the Truth Seeker Award, follows the stories of a women-led forest ranger group in Gayo, Aceh, as they defend one of Southeast Asia’s most important rainforest ecosystems
