Created during his residency at STPI, Udomsak Krisanamis will debut a new body of work at Art Basel in Basel, reimagining print and paper through a pop art lens.

Irreverent yet pointed, the works reflect on the noise and residue of consumption in contemporary life.

The ā€œmemeā€ feels like such a contemporary concept, familiar to us as we encounter them online every day. In this week’s print_screen article, Stephanie Bailey traces the parallels between the circulation of revolutionary pamphlets and contemporary memes in anti-imperialist movements across the ages. Kim Beom returns to STPI as part of a collaboration that spans nearly a decade, continuing to translate his artistic concerns into the mediums of print and paper. His practice questions everyday realities, utilising absurdist scenarios to interrogate the boundaries between fiction and reality.

During previous residencies, Kim developed a series of cyanotypes that feature blueprints of security guard watchtowers—their sole purpose, ironically, to allow for security guards to watch over themselves.

This residency marks the next chapter in Kim's ongoing body of work at STPI. Watch this space.

"I have made my life the subject of my work, using the images of home, the places I have visited, and the stars I have looked up to." — Zarina ()

Born in Aligarh in 1937, Zarina fled the violence of Partition at ten years old — an experience that would shape everything she made. A mathematician turned printmaker, she studied across Bangkok, Paris, and Tokyo before becoming a prominent figure in the feminist art circles of 1970s New York. Working in woodcuts, handmade paper, and sculpture, her practice quietly but persistently engaged with displacement, belonging, and the question of home.

In a world still fracturing along similar fault lines, where borders redraw themselves in real time, her work resonates as strongly today as ever.

Opening 6 June till 1 August, Zarina: Directions to My House brings her practice to Southeast Asia in her first major exhibition in the region.

Join us for a special Curator's Tour () and a Spoken Word Performance (.emmanuel) on our Opening Day.

ā€œThe spine of the work is my three passports... Each of them are different periods of life. The first one has a lot of stories about coming to America, or trying to stay in America. The last one is kind of like trying to leave America. [Laughs]" — Rirkrit Tiravanija, MoMA's Print/Out

Considered to be his first major print and his first truly autobiographical work, untitled 2008–2011 (the map of the land of feeling) I, II, III began as an ambitious project first proposed to Tomas Vu-Daniel (), Artistic Director of the Neiman Center ().

Requiring a collaborative team of students, faculty and administrators from Columbia University to see this project through completion, each of the three 27-foot long scrolls transform Tiravanija’s personal memories into public archive.

View this work at SAY YES TO EVERYTHING, on now until 9 May.

Where did the phrase ā€œgreen go homeā€ originate?

Rirkrit Tiravanija and Tomas Vu’s collaborative project, references this very phrase, playing on Latin American folklore around the term ā€œgringoā€. Creating a temporary wall of resisters when installed, the works combine images of cultural figures, revolutionaries and icons with text supplied by Tiravanija.

Each iteration becomes site-specific, responding to the social, cultural and political contexts in which they are situated, inviting reflection on resistance, identity and collective political imagination.

View these works and more at Rirkrit Tiravanija: SAY YES TO EVERYTHING, on till 9 May.
