3 days / 2 nights trip to River Kwai and the floating markets ..
We start from Hua Hin or Bangkok at 7 am. and drive to the bridge over river Kwai .. at the bridge we enter the train around 10.40, so we usually have some time to sniff around the market at the bridge before we start the train ride .. In the train we enjoy the landscape and a lighter "shake" from the old railway track.. some places we are closer than 1/2 meter from the cliffs along the trail.. After the train trip we continue 20 minutes to a restaurant and enjoy lunch with 6-8 various dishes..
After lunch another 20-30 minutes to a floating hotel in the middle of Sai Yok National Park overlooking 2 waterfalls ... check in and some relaxation .. maybe a cold Chang ... our restaurant fleet gets pulled up and down the river and at the end of the trip a little under one of the waterfall ..
We barbecue on the raft .. and enjoy another cold .. or a glass of wine ..
Next morning we check out .. go to Erawan waterfall where we can swim and crawl up behind the waterfall .. here we also enjoy some lunch .. in the afternoon drive to the war museum to experience a bit of the history about the railway .. then to a hotel in river Kwai`s estuary .. live directly down to one of the canals .. again we barbecue at the river and later we are picked up by boat and sailed to Amphawa floating market where we stroll around a little .. eat a little and maybe shop a little ... by 8.30 pm it is time to return.. we take the boat to our hotel and along the way we will see fireflies in the trees ... experiencing how people bathe in the river .. washing up .. and sometimes brushing their teeth ..
Next morning it is time for the morning market where we are sailing around in rowboats between food, fruit and souvenier shops .. and see the production of coconut suga .. we also make a stop at the famous trainmarked..
of course we will also visit the cementary and Hellfire Pass museum on the tour...
After some lunch it is time to return to Hua Hin/Bangkok ...
